This is sharp and I really like it... But I have a genuine (non sarcastic) question...

Why this over say a lenovo tiny? I have a few Tiny's and just thinking where/why I would use this?

I have 4x 6 port M.2 to sata adapters in my Windows/Plex/Stablebit Drivepool box and love it.. way more stable then the 8i + 36 port extender....

appreciate your response!

For fun.

Really though, I only made it since I was just trying to figure out FreeCAD and wanted to make a 5.25" bay mount.. Then I was like well I can add a Pi since there's room, then I saw those little 2.5" hot swap bays for a single 5.25" bay and thought it would be a neat NAS project. I had no goal from before to turn it into that, but I'm also part of Geerling's channel so I felt like submitting it to his 10" rack project collection/page.

your hot swap bay caught me off guard cuz I have some, that i bought years ago for $50 each, that are now $90 each!!!!
I have 3 of them in my plex server to which 3 of my m.2 to 6 sata connect to.

Glad to see a cheaper option!

if it works for you, then it is good enough.

I had 20 ssd and 18 sata... various sizes all around. Using stablebit drivepool but being 10gb, slowness to the sata pool was meh so now that is gone and I am going all SSD!!!! hah...

new motherboard has 4x m.2 slots and using 4 of these!!!!!
