Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I really, *really* hate to sell but changing priorities dictate I must stick with my laptop until further notice. Aargh.
I'm an experienced eBay seller (jazzonly, 69/0/0) but thought I'd offer this system here since [H] was my tech resource when building it. Right now it's the whole system...
I have a 6000d and love it, especially considering the price ($1250). Mine is a 1.86 ghz Pentium 750, WSXGA+, X300 GPU, 1G ram, 80 gb disk, CDRW/DVD combo, Intel WiFi, at home warranty. I used a $750 coupon on the machine configured at $2012.
The 80GB is 5400 rpm. 100GB coming soon I hear...

Can someone tell me whether the 9300 has a Sony-Xbrite-like glossy (reflective) screen?
IMO the Sony has a screen to die for but the 9300 is a way better deal.
SpeedFan, http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php, works great! It can monitor temps and control fan speeds according to your wishes, lowering noise.
Did software come with your mobo? Asus includes Asus Probe, which does a good job reporting temps, voltages and fan speeds.
Temps definitely not a problem - I can leave the system off all night then boot XP and immediately do a restart and it'll still crap out. I do agree that it's acting that way, though.
All fans working, no dust bunnies (new build.)
I re-flashed the 1009 Bios - still fails.
OS=XP w/Sp2
Whoa, surprise, the reset switch on the case shuts down the system as well. I hadn't used this in a while. Hmm...
Could this be Bios related? I flashed the mobo w/ Asus 1010 Beta 3 recently. Maybe return to 1009 Bios? Otherwise I could swap in another PSU (temporarily). Or...
After 3 weeks of running great, my new build has taken to hard shutdowns every time I do a restart. I click restart, everything goes like normal but then the machine turns off. I am forced to switch off the PSU for a few minutes and if I switch it back on too soon, the case light flashes and the...
Does anyone know of data recovery software that runs under XP that will perform data recovery on a HFS formatted disk that came out of a Mac?
I don't have access to a Mac.
Thanks for any advice/info...
42C is no problem at all. Mine was idling at about 46C, but the retail fan was spinning way too fast/loud. I enabled CnQ and cut the temp to 38-40C, then used SpeedFan to cut the cpu and case fans to 55% and that made it amazingly quiet.
Good info here. I realize these programs all run on XP but will they recover data off an HD created on a Mac? If so, it could help me avoid re-ripping 300 CDs.
