"Chinese memory maker YMTC wants to dethrone Samsung and SK hynix by the end of 2027
YMTC has some big plans.
With the memory crisis in full swing, it's taking severe chunks out of the supplies of both NAND (used for SSD storage) and DRAM...
And? Will the end user enthusiast see this performance? No because it is for AI data servers. We won't see jack diddly squat except for ever increasing DDR prices.
I think the technology is cool but it currently is of zero use to end users.
I don't really care what new model RAM any company releases as we all know price is going to be stupid ridiculous. Until prices are reigned in to late 2024 prices RAM companies will not get my money.
“China's top DRAM maker CXMT sues Pentagon over its blacklisting — argues chips are standard civilian JEDEC spec, not defense hardware
CXMT claims that it has no connection to the Chinese People's Liberation Army.
China's leading DRAM producer...
Patents are rules made by corporations to ensure they have a monopoly for as long as they want, and countries that agree with this are just collaborating. If one day China could benefit from patents then you'd bet they'd enforce it, but...
I think it kind of went off the rails way back with the flashlight.
They've been trying to saddle Doom with a plot since Doom 3, but the plot of Doom is supposed to be that Doom Guy considers demons to be a type of flooring. That's it.
Doom The Dark Ages strayed too far from what Doom was supposed to be. I won't say it's a bad game, but it's the weakest of the modern Doom games IMO. I do like the id Tech engine, and honestly what I'd really like to see is a reboot of the...
I agree. I had the sense that the maps felt dumbed down in Dark Ages in some way, hard to explain. While I finished the game, I never really liked the color coded blocking mechanic, didn't feel like it belonged in a shooter.
But were they bridges worth keeping?
The amount of slop most studios have produced as of late isn’t worth the bandwidth to download let alone the time to play.
If they think it’s an awesome idea to spend 100 million on a product that has an...
We don't know that. Considering Microsoft's history with game studios, I believe Microsoft just wanted to save money because they don't care about single player games. Doom Dark Ages did make money, but not Sea of Thieves and Minecraft levels...
“Targets AI Memory Bottleneck with DRAM Talent Push
Notably, beyond chip production, Musk could also be moving to address one of the AI industry’s biggest constraints, memory supply, at Terafab. Tesla has begun recruiting for key positions at...
“CXMT Says No Thank You to Apple’s Demand For A Price Cut, as Huawei And Xiaomi Hand It Rare Leverage – Report
Chinese memory manufacturer CXMT has refused Apple's demand for a price cut in negotiations, says a report from the Korean press...
I was so naive, I thought there's no way ddr5 would keep climbing, last time I had checked earlier this year, 2x64gb ddr5 dimms were 1200-1500 range
Now, its essentially 2k on pcpartpicker.
Was going to repurpose a spare mobo and toss in ram...
“China's CXMT targets 30% DRAM memory market share by 2030 with sixth mega-fab — future plans bottlenecked by access to advanced chipmaking tools
The time is right for CXMT to expand.
Following its massive $8.6 billion initial public offering...
