F23 Server - "Unknown Error" During Installation - DeviceTreeError?

I found the root cause of the problem. The 2 old drives were previously setup in a RAID configuration on the old motherboard. Somehow it carried that information over to the new setup and made a mess of trying to setup the AMD RAID. I used a Windows10 install disk (USB flash) to run 'diskpart'...

F23 Server - "Unknown Error" During Installation - DeviceTreeError?

Background: I'm totally new to linux and my end goal is to get an Amahi 9 based home server setup (which requires Fedora 23 Server to be installed first). I had previous success with an older set of hardware that I used as a trial run before investing in new hardware and additional storage. The...

ASRock UEFI RAID Setup - No Driver Mapping / Detected?

Update: It helps if I read the WHOLE document. Especially the part where it says "for A88X chipsets." ;) I had a few oddball hiccups where rebooting with the flash drive installed caused it to "forget" the UEFI "version" of the flash drive. When the UEFI version did show up in the boot menu...

ASRock UEFI RAID Setup - No Driver Mapping / Detected?

RAID setup instructions I've been following: http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/Manual/RAID/FM2A88M Pro3+/English.pdf Hoping someone can point me in the right direction as I feel like I've tried every combination of settings I can think of in the UEFI control panel and I'm still at a loss...

    Budget card for WoW

Review: http://techreport.com/reviews/2006q1/geforce-7800gs/index.x?pg=3 Texturing Capacity. Relevant to RPGs and RTS'? From the same article: I'd imagine the performance in Guild Wars would be pretty close to World of Warcraft, right?

    Budget card for WoW

That's a tough call. I just found out (thanks Froogle!) that CompUSA is selling the X800 XT for $199. If the local store has one in stock, it seems like the price : performance at that price point would be hard to beat for just about any AGP card on the market right now. As far as the specs...

    Budget card for WoW

Lazn- Thanks for your patience. As you, and others have said in this thread (and I agree), benchmarks are key. Unfortunately I don't believe WoW offers a benchmark program so I haven't come across any site offering relevant data. So I've tried to find benchmarks for games that play similarly...

    Budget card for WoW

Ah ha! That makes good sense. So in that sense, the x850 Pro and x800 XT probably perform similarly(within about 10%?) despite the differences in pipeline numbers. It also looks like I may have a hard time finding a new x800 XT for under $250. But then it looks like it's fairly easy to find x850...

    Budget card for WoW

So two votes for the x800 XT. Is this due to the number of pipelines? Does the fact that it doesn't support SM3.0 matter? Why is 512mb not beneficial to my situation?

    Budget card for WoW

Lazn- I presume your comments are directed towards me and if so, thanks for commenting. However, I don't think the 7600GT is available with an AGP interface and $70 is a boatload more to spend on just a video card. I could probably swing an extra $10, but at $70, I may as well buy a PCI...

    Budget card for WoW

Pretty convenient that this thread came up. Playing WoW at 1600x1200 usuallly means the frame rate is right around 10-15fps for me. I'm in the market for a replacement AGP card that costs under $250 and I'm not looking to overclock. This would replace my current Ti4200 and hopefully last a...

In the market for a keyboard and possibly mouse

Thanks for the offer, but that is more than I need, plus the keyboard is not the ergonomic type.

    Quiet mod for mouse

Yes. Have you heard of the pillow mod? Take your pillow and place it over your mouse. This muffles the sound considerably. I hear there is a high performance version in the works for those that like to game late at night.

In the market for a keyboard and possibly mouse

So I either asked an incredibly rhetorical question, or I stumped everyone.

In the market for a keyboard and possibly mouse

Back in college I used a logitech split keyboard and the first version of the optical intellimouse explorer. I was really happy with the performance of both, though the spacebar sometimes stuck on the keyboard and the board finally took a dump last year. The mouse also died shortly after...
