Using Arctic 5900 Heastink on 6600GT?

I'm looking for a replacement for the noisy stock heatsink on my 6600GT. I had a look and can't find any specifically for the 6600GT but I've read that the ones designed for the 5900 are suitable because they have similar board layouts. Can anyone straighten this out for me, the noise is...

    Hey the [H] is back!

On the whole the new setup seems fine, but they need to put the layout back to the way it was.

what are your favourite counter-strike skins and maps.

I used to play quite a lot then took a break for about a year or so. I've just got back into it recently, and I'm really enjoying it. Got the Fusion Pack 12 or something last night, it seems pretty decent. Nice visual effects.

    fan adapter? 80mm to 92mm or 120mm

Yeah, so if you've got a heatsink that's only designed for an 80mm fan, you can put this adapter on it and put a 120mm on it iirc. Never tried it myself so I've no idea how effective it is.

    Lian-Li Case Fans

In my Lian Li PC70, the fans appear to be made by Adda. A bit of googling turned up http://www.addausa.com/specifications/ac_fans.pdf I found mine were a bit noisy too, but I put them all at 7v last night, I'm getting the same temperatures but it's a lot quieter.

A Poll on how you select quality settings to play your games

Never used AA or AF, my Ti4200 really just isn't up to it. I'll tinker with it when I upgrade my graphics card though.

How much "life" is taken by OCing

Pretty much, I think OCing reduces the lifespan from 30 years to 15 or 10, but there's no way you'll still be using that CPU in ten years anyway.

I need Maxtor's and Western Digital's acoustic management utility!

http://www.maxtor.com/en/support/downloads/setacm.htm and WD's site appears to be down.

    Possible first build: impressions?

For a bit cheaper you could get this case - http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-156-019&depa=0 and this power supply - http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=17-153-004&depa=0 A friend of mine has that case, he's pleased with it and the thermaltake...

    Possible first build: impressions?

Firstly I'd recommend a brand name PSU, I've had bad experiences with generic PSUs, they're a false economy. As for which brands to go for, I've not bought a PSU for a while. I've been using a 350w Enermax for the past 2 years or so with no problems. From what I hear on here, Antec's Trupower...

    N00b stuff

From the look of that second screenshot, you've overclocked it too far, and that's what's causing those artifacts. What I did is start at the default clock, then raise the core in 5 or 10mhz increments, playing a game at each speed to check for artifacts. Once they appear, drop the speed by...

    Looking for pimp case

I agree with you wanting a steel case, I bought a Lian Li PC-75 a few years ago, and it's got all manner of scratches and dents in it from being taken to and from LAN parties. Aluminium is fine if you just want your case to sit under your desk and look nice, but I think steel is a necessity if...

    Nvidia OC quick question

I've always used Powerstrip for overclocking my GF4 Ti4200, never had any problems with it. http://www.entechtaiwan.net/util/ps.shtm and it's only 725kb so it's ok to download on 56k.
