    Athlon 64 3000+ @ 2.24ghz beats 3.4ghz P4 by 3min in compressing a 788mb bin file!!

    athlon 3200+ @ stock speeds = 11:21 minutes, this has GAIM, firefox (with 3 tabs) open and actively browsing while compressing the CD image of the 1CD of splinter Cell pandora tomorrow (~818MB) .. not bad...

    no it isnt, the A64 instalation is a breeze... works like a charm and you cant damage the CPU core unless you really MEAN it (hammer etc. involved). Anyway, there is an issue i read somewhere about some motherboards not coping well with 2 512MB sticks but i havent seen that happen.
