I believe that recent versions of OSX just treat everything that isn't explicitly tagged with an ICC profile as if they were sRGB. Haven't personally tried it though.

We already pay more in taxes for our health care than most single-payer countries. The difference is we ALSO pay about the same amount out-of-pocket.
I mean, it's not like the 30" ACD, the choice of pros for quite a long time, wasn't matte or anything. And it wasn't like there were pros screaming for years for a matte option for Macs before it became painfully obvious that Apple would never again produce a matte monitor.

I guess for me it makes a lot more sense to create minimal previews on import and then manually create 1:1 previews before I start actually working with the photos, usually when I'm doing something else and it doesn't matter how long they take to render. And you don't really need a 1:1 preview...
