Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
OP asked if he could upgrade his 1080TI for $200, I provided a path with a warning about it not being mainstream and its caveats, but it is a valid path. However, IMHO, it is the only way the OP is going to get a meaningful upgrade from his current 1080TI for $200.
What if one does not care...
You may want to consider just getting another 1080TI and SLI bridge. Should be easily attainable for less than $200, maybe much less.
I know it's not mainstream, but if your games support it and you don't care about raytracing or dlss, a pair of 1080TI's in SLI are a beast. Performance about...
I rescued three of them this year. It's built like a tank, has good documentation, good drivers (compatible), and has a fairly small footprint. It's idle power is extremely low and it starts up fast. None of the current phone home/toner subscription bullshit. A classic HP laser printer that...
In the mid 90's, Walmart, in rural areas at least, sold some computer parts. I don't recall CPUs, but I specifically remember hard drives, CD ROM drives, and video cards in addition to mice, keyboards, and monitors. It didn't last long, maybe a year or two. Prices were good and the stuff...
I haven't been in academia in decades but I can imagine what all this AI stuff has done to the imagination of students.
Funny off topic story: I went back to grad school and was a lab TA for one of my formerly undergrad profs. I caught a couple of frat bros cheating and, due to circumstances...
Indeed and I agree strongly about the sticker. The hardware specs are what attracted me. Sort of a Field of Dreams thing - if you build it they will come.
I've used DDWrt as well as OpenWrt and dabbled with OpnSense. The most striking thing to me was how disappointed I was with OpnSense...
I ordered Aug 31 through Amazon prime and did get both the payment and an order number confirmation via email from woot. Never bought anything before through woot. It shows up on my "stuff you bought" page on woot that I sign into using my Amazon credentials. Estimated delivery date is a very...
For $15 too hard to resist even if I just use it as a WIFI access point. One downside about woot is the long delivery date - middle of September - but, for this, who cares?
Ended up taking a full week, but I got my replacement drive. It was packed well and passed both full erase and the extended WD tests.
No communication other than the original email response and return label. Can't really complain.
BTW, yes, YMMV on vibration. One of the drive barely feels...
Followed their instructions to send an email and had a prepaid return label in 2 hours on a Saturday. Doesn't look like they cross ship which kind of makes sense as they have no way to charge a deposit.
