    Apple's displays (for me) always run a bit hot. I've got a 19 in Sony that doesnt get nearly as hot as my Apple, BUT the Sony pic quality also sucks (dont buy Sony, sitting them side by side, there is no comparison). Oh yeah, how hot is hot?

    I get the same thing on my Powerbook, My Wifes Powerbook, and both G5s (tower, iMac). The CD being hot really is quite common and I dont think will hurt anything. I think the G3s were cooled by convection, so, if it is an iMac dont put anything on top of it, if it is an iBook keep it off...
