    iTunes is definitely good UNLESS you plan on using less common formats, like ogg. I used Foobar a few years ago and it was a bit buggy but had a lot of potential. If it has been refined now it's probably pretty good.

    What type of projector is it? If it has HDMI (hopefully) or at least component I would highly recommend getting something that can upconvert. As HD gets more and more popular the availability and price of a receiver that will also upconvert all of your signals to be send over HDMI/Component...
