    Fan sensor mysteries

Fan RPM outputs are Open Collector type, so it's normal that you can't measure anything without a pullup resistor (this pullup resistor is mounted by default near every RPM capable fan connector on a mobo). Put a resistor of around 10K (not critical, something between 4k7 to 100K should be OK)...

    Tygon tubing width?

A couple of months ago I bought 20 feet (6 meter) of 1/2" blue Danger Den UV tubing and use it in my system: I have to say I'm very pleased with it so far. These are the different 1/2" tubings I have (and used): From upper to lower: - 1/16" wall silicone tubing (bought locally)...

    Best pump?

A Eheim 1250 is COMPLETELY silent if you take care to isolate it well from the case. Till I find a pump that is more powerfull AND as silent I'll keep it... CD :)

Means max head is 15 feet...

    is 1000gph sufficent?

Not really, most big pumps (ex. Eheim 1260 (670GPH), Sicce Suprema (980GPH), Sicce Mega Plus (1490GPH)) have only a max head of 8 to 11 feet, but have big (3/4" or 1") in- and outlets and higher power wattages. CD :)

    is 1000gph sufficent?

A good WC pump (MCP600/AquaXtreme 50Z, DD4/MCP650, Iwaki) is rated for 10+ feets of head, and nothing gets blown even without clamps... CD :)

    is 1000gph sufficent?

This is another water cooling myth... It's not the flowrate of a pump that will blow a connection, but the head (or pressure). You can have a 10000GPH pump, if it has only a 10feet head it will blow nothing... CD :)

Need a higher head pump which is better?

It's the sound caused by the electronic switching of the coils of the motor to create the rotational magnetic field for the impeller. I don't know the exact frequency of this switching, but if you ever heard a "sawtooth" or "square wave" audio signal from an oscillator through a speaker you'd...

    WC questions

All original Eheim pumps are 120VAC or 220VAC, Eheim doesn't make 12VDC pumps. Innovatek sells modded Eheim 1046 pumps ("HPPS") with a 220VAC convertor that run on 12VDC, and apparently also a 12VDC Eheim 1048 with a "real" 12VDC motor. CD :)

    0 maintenance Water Cooling?

That's correct! BTW, I had to top half a cup of coolant in my airtrap every few months with silicone tubing... CD :)

What do you do with your pump?

I use these Vibration Damping Mounts which made my Eheim 1250 completely silent in a non getto way: Available at McMaster-Carr, reference 9376K111 CD :)

Window uneven - How can I fix it?

This is how I made my window: BTW, it's the side panel of my Lian Li PC-70, masked with masking tape. Window cutout drawed with a pencil and a few drilled holes in every corner for the blade of the fretsaw: There we go... Completely cut... The window opening is then filed...
