Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I'll burn a copy of UBCD off my friend's computer in a couple of days to test the memory.
The CD isn't bad because after trying the original, I tried a friend's that I burned for him and used to install XP x64 on his comp without a problem.
The cable is new out of the mobo box, and prior...
So I recently had to upgrade my mobo, proc, and graphics card (and RMAed my PSU) recently for various reasons not worth getting into here. So I bought a MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum, Athlon 64 X2 4200+, and a PowerColor X800XL 256MB. After finding the necessary drivers, I decided to give XP x64 a try...
Apple seems to have dropped the prices on their Cinema Displays today. 20-inch is now $799, 23-inch $1499. The 30-inch is still $2999 though. Good timing for me since I will be soon buying a new monitor.
I'm trying to decide between the 20" ACD and the Dell 2005FPW. Now that the ACD is...
Nice job on the base-4 counter HHunt! I like it a lot. Like budec said, it would be cool if it made an [H] when completely filled in, like the mega [H] maybe. Or maybe something else to make it uniquely [H].
It seems to me that we should take a few of the ideas listed here, condensed the pros...
Tigerbiten: You're second scheme (the reworking of the current system) was precisely what I was thinking. Very nice! And it only allows for a maximum of 4 [H]s. I think that system would be much clearer to all those who use and read the [H]s. Even though as you get higher, it still takes a while...
Writing the component oneself is simple enough. I'm just talking about it from an efficiency point of view.
I suggested that only because I think that's how it works for web forms and such. But I might be wrong on that. In any event, I agree it would be simple enough.
If you wanted to really make it fancy, you could also code it so that if there is five characters available and you try to paste in more than that, then it would just put in the first five characters of the pasted string. Buffering makes all sorts of things possible, esp with java.util.regex, if...
I agree with essentially what everyone has said. The big banner with all the stats does get annoying when they are plastered everywhere. The [H]s are unique to us, small, and easily read. The system is sort of a roman number scheme now, just not consistently applied. And the levels of each...
Just to add on to what tim_m said, a JTextArea can be multiline while a JTextField is forced to a single line of entry. So if you want to word wrap, make sure to use a JTextArea. Other than that, I confirm what tim_m said above.
Oh, I just realized that you may be referring to something else...
The DIY approach sounds more interesting (and more $$ effective). The cork tile solution sounds esp tempting to try. Thanks for the tip on the fan gromets; I'll be sure to remount the case fans as such.
Not sure where this goes, so if the following doesn't belong here, then feel free to move it mods.
I'm going to be buying an Antec P160 case (see sig) and saw it on FrozenCPU with a bunch of extras available. Specifically, I was intrigued by their sound dampening padding. Does anyone know if...
Those are awesome, exactly what I was talking about. I like the bottom two with the extra thick border on the right side, very nice design there. I'll put one of those up on my website when I get home.
and how could I forget...
There are some nice buttons here so far. I was thinking maybe someone could make a half-height logo, like a 90x15 one or something. I particularly like those, esp since you can have a bunch of them without taking much screen real estate. A couple of the logos above look like they could be easily...
Aha! That would be logical. Silly NewEgg for confusing me with the wrong pic. I would have bought the right video card anyways it seems, but I may have been confused, if I noticed. :D
Thanks.
