Is this termination no bueno? 2.5G network drops

Mostly means there's no published rules about how downgrading works though. According to spec, you should continue to negotiate to best mutually supported, even though it doesn't work...

Is this termination no bueno? 2.5G network drops

100 only needs two pair. But downgrading on bad cable is definitely not in the ethernet spec, so who knows what rules are being followed. Negotiation happens at 1mbps, over the main two pairs, so it's really easy to negotiate to a connection that doesn't work. If you're on windows, realtek's...

Are there still inkjet printers that don't try to screw you on ink somehow?

The paperless office is happening. Or the paperless home office anyway. Approximately zero of my regular friends have printers at home. Very few have a desktop and some of them don't have laptops either. The frankly alarming number of people who do their taxes on their smartphones don't print...

AMD Zen 6 CPU Specifications Leaks – Big Boost Unveiled

Yeah, I think the chonky cores are already pretty close to max chonk. Been a while since I looked, but Apple cores had more execution units, but ARM memory model gives you more room for OOO execution and lower clockspeed makes it easier to feed from memory and makes clocking across the core easier.

AMD Zen 6 CPU Specifications Leaks – Big Boost Unveiled

I don't think you'll see this on desktop/laptop much. But some phones have 3 core types: one, maybe two for big stuff, 4ish medium cores, and two small cores for background/low power stuff. If AMD were to do a three tier chip, it would probably be a new smaller, slower, cooler wimpy tier rather...

Anyway to make a 10700K SKU downclock and behave like the non K SKU

I'd wonder if they won't work with the K or just don't say they will. My Intel knowledge is poor these days, but I know AMD systems can usually set the TDP and mini systems that are TDP limited usually will work with bigger cpus, but have to keep a lower TDP setting. It usually ends up not a...

Identical twin boards die nearly at the same time

Same part made in same factory had the same hidden flaw leading the the same problem after the same runtime in the same environment. Consistency in manufacturing is a good thing, mostly. I'd run a long memtest and/or clean/reset ram and disk and maybe cpu.

Is this PCIe 3.0 4x M.2 drive compatible with HP Z240 tower?

The 22 is the width in millimeters, in case anyone was wondering.

    Plugging UPS into non-grounded outlet

That's a reasonable way to ground a breaker box, as long as that pipe is metal (looks like it) and goes into the ground. Some places code always requires a separare grounding rod, some places either way is fine, there's probably some places that require grounding this way.

    Plugging UPS into non-grounded outlet

I think it varies, but it's at least preferred to have all your electrical grounds connected to one place. Grounding through pipes in some places and your system ground in others is not ideal. Some systems will ground the panel with a grounding rod and some ground through a water pipe... some...

UPS battery shopping - what specs do I need, etc.

Having volume and being around means they probably aren't terrible. If you didn't get good batteries from them, you wouldn't order from there again. UPS batteries aren't a big niche to find new customers with, so I don't think you'd put your name on the batteries if they were crap (you could...

Is Microsoft Fixing Windows 11 or Making It Worse?

Assuming you're behind a nat, you'll probably be fine. Except, IIRC, Windows XP needs a hotfix or it can't process the massive size of the update db. I don't know if they ever figured out how to send that update first.

    Surround Sound System Speaker advice.

If I understand crossover settings correctly (which yeah, i probably don't)... This seems like you have a hole betwen 120-250 ? Incidentally, your rears probably can go lower than your fronts. If it's not too much trouble you might try swapping them and see if you like that better.

    Surround Sound System Speaker advice.

Also, since you can't use the LFE in port on the sub, so you probably can't have the filter bypass on, make sure the crossover control on the sub is all the way up --- the receiver will handle crossover, the sub shouldn't need to. With those speakers, I would expect the crossover set as high as...
