Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
one major difference would be the ability to accept ECC ram.
other than that...go for it.
I use a desktop board with onboard RAID for my fileserver and it's been running fantastic for 20 months.
You should do great with a 2.8, also. My fileserver is an Athlon Xp 2000+, 256MB ram, it...

Hey guys. I've got an interview coming up at a job that's about 25 % mac users. I'm coming from a 90% windows based environment. I have supported macs (os 9 and x) at this job, but i just want to be sure I can do some common things that they are sure to ask me at the interview. i have an os...
Who knows. I truly don't know what they're up to. I know we did just get a decent sized IBM cluster for Research Computing...IBM p655 (i think multiples of them, 2 or 3 maybe?)(not sure of the cost of that bad boy) but it's taking up a lot of space. Something about the Linux on P series...

So the University I work at has a "long term" plan to eventually go from between 7-10 fileservers to ONE. Yes, just one for approximately 4500 faculty. I for one think this is insane but then again I am not the one making the decisions. basically, tell me what you think.

What should my memory divider be set at on my Asus p4p800. I'm currently running a 2.6c on it at 250 fsb @ 3.25 ghz. so i have the ram speed set at 266 mhz in the bios, assuming it overclocks with the FSB. is that correct or should i use the next setting, 320 mhz.
Thanks...
It shows up in windows. It's been running Prime95 now for 6 hours @ 100% cpu load and no errors yet. I feel it's a "cosmetic" error. I'm going to update the bios. Thanks!!
