    Prime95 errors, what causes them?

    I can sympathize, prime is driving me nuts, ran memtest86 all tests for 59 loops with no errors, can play BF for hours with no probs, Prime for 3 hours, then execution halted..I'm about to un/reinstall Prime95, corrupted install is about all I can hope for.

    Artic Silver 5, longer you use it higher temps go....?

    not to be a dick, but try reading the DIRECTIONS. the AS5 site says to use a SMALL amount, roughly the size of a grain of rice, putting the HS on and the AS5 will spread thinly on its own. I used it about a week ago and keep seeing incrementally lower idle/load temps. (even after a day of burn-in)

    Just got my new p4c...

    each chip will OC different, but as a general guideline most 2.6c's seem to go 3.2, some go higher, mine is stuck on 250fsb 1:1, though not sure its the CPU.

    its not really proven, Abit stands by their story that other mobos arent getting true temps, it can cause an issue if your back off temp is too low. you can go to abits official board and read 20 or 30 pages of back and forth on this.

    I think I may not have given enough burn in time, still cant get beyond 250 but at least I can run it now @ 2.5/4/3/6, prime95 for 6 hours or so, going to give vdimm mod a shot and see how RAM perform improves with ~2.95

    I may be optimistic, but think it may not be the CPU maxing out. I cant run in 5:4 or 3:2 @ 250, at least not stably. still leaving lax timings on RAM running considerably slower. have read on diff sites about IC7s not running asynchronous CPU/RAM settings correctly, I did use abit auto bios...
