Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
My Shuttle SN25P box has put me in a bit of a jam, because I can't exactly upgrade the MOBO and go AM2. Newegg is out as of a few days ago, I guess I don't care what speed as long as it's dual core.
The last board I was seriously overclocking was an nForce2, so I'm a bit rusty. Through these forums, and searching other tips elsewhere, here are my BIOS tweaks:
multiplier: 11x
FSB: 250
HTT: set to "auto"
2GB super*talent RAM set to: CAS 2.5, 2-4-4-8
CPU voltage: 1.5v
RAM voltage: 2.7v...
The WRT54G kicks ass. You can upgrade the firmware and do just about anything with it, including boosting the signal strength a great deal. Pretty cheap, and a GREAT deal for the money, IMHO...
Dammit, I've just spent the better part of today trying to get into his system! I've tried knoppix std, and pebuilder boot cd with password recovery, I've run out of options. I guess I'll just get the data (pics of his kids, a few work related items) off and format. But I guess I am more...
AutoIT did the trick! My script is kinda messy, but sure beats having to click through a few menus and a couple of logins. It even lets you compile it as an executable. Still working on that server backend though... :D
Wow, I'll have to look into those a bit. My original idea was just to automate logons and stuff like that, but it sounds like with the proper tools I'd maybe even be able to pull data from spreadsheets and the like, and have it entered automatically? The program that lives on the AS400 (about...
Sheesh, feel a bit stupid for answering MY OWN POST, but I guess I just needed a little more googlage (googleage? googleige? googling? googleing?). Anyway, this seemed like it would do the trick autoIT
Anyone used something like this before?
I was wondering what type of language I could use to help automate some incredibly dull and time consuming windows tasks. I frequently use an IBM interface client for an AS400 server, and it's driving me nuts that I have to repeatedly do the same actions over and over. For instance, to get to...
Yeah, he would have NO idea if he'd been hacked at all. I tried for days to get him to stop using so I could look at it, all the while trying to sound like the problems he was having were worth him leaving it alone for awhile. Unfortunately, he would call me hours later with some new horrible...
He assured me that he tried all the things he could think of, b-day, names of kids/wife/dog, empty, spacebar, 123, etc. to no avail. It's a rather new HP, which obviously has some type of weird boot menu he doesn't know how to access. I've got a password recovery/antivirus boot kit (from...
Yeah, I haven't either. Prior to that I helped him setup a wireless network in his home (made sure he used a strong encryption key, changed all the password defaults, etc. because as soon as he turned his adapter on he picked up 4 other unencrypted networks.) So his desktop was now networked...
My technically challenged friend called me a week ago with a few concerns about his laptop. He mentioned that it started 'acting funny', Mcafee antivirus was asking him to re-install it, he would click 'start'->'programs' and nothing would appear, as if all the folders were hidden or deleted...
A light bulb went off a few minutes ago, but quickly dimmed when I realized I had no idea what the answer might be. It even sounds silly to me to ask it, like having to ask somebody at school "how do you spell 'the' ", when you momentarily forget. If that's never happened to you, well...
No dice. It's just a folder on a networked computer setup to accept ftp. It's an old pain-in-the-ass win98 machine that doesn't do what you want it to and won't tell you why. I was just thinking "Hey, I could throw some kind of web page in there that could help me out", but that's where I...
