The drives used in Rio Carbons are Seagate ST1 5gb microdrives w/ 2mb buffer. They're the absolute best microdrives out to date. Yes they're shock resistant.

um, go bench your array with something other then sandra, because your numbers seem horribly slow... i average 80mb/sec with hdtach and im on sata raid0 setup.
