Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I can come up with a couple of reasons:
1. You want a computer like right now. You're excited, money is allocated, and components out now are pretty badass.
2. Most people upgrade every few years...if you don't get next years stuff this time, maybe you'll get it next time.
3. There are...
Ha. And then when Sandy Bridge comes out, it'll just be a few months before the NEXT greatastic thing comes along. And then once you upgrade to that...it'll be obsolete. ;)
That being said, the build looks good, except I agree WD would be preferable on the HD and 750 watts is just not...
Well, I did some tuning on my system. My mobo didn't like 4 sticks of ram (not a ram problem...more a mobo problem) so I purchased 2x2GB sticks.
I overclocked to 3.5, tuned up the memory and started playing black ops. After about 2 crashes, I settled at a very stable 3.3 Ghz and the memory...
Hey folks,
I just upgraded and have 4 sticks of OCZ's SLI-Ready series PC-8500, which is 1066 Mhz DDR2. The sticks have timing of 5-5-5-15@2.1V

Yeah, I know. Just can't justify upgrading the video card when it works titties for everything except high res gaming (poor old 9600 GT).
I'm holding out for a while. I'll probably wait until the next gen comes out and then buy something of the current gen for less...that's kind of my thing. ;)
Thanks, guys.
I think I'll probably just sit tight for a while. It doesn't seem like it makes much sense to upgrade without going to the new 'i' core line, and financially I'm not sure if that makes any sense to me yet.
Hey folks,
So my system is a few years old now and has been working great, but for some reason I've gotten bitten by the upgrade bug.
I have an e6850 that's been stable at 3.4 Ghz for over a year now. Hums along pretty good.
I've been eyeballing a few different processors, but was...
I've been using 7 on and off for a week or so now.
Dumping all my crap on an external and reinstalling isn't really too much of a headache. And by then, it will give me a chance to clean out all the crap i accrue that i don't even use.
I really like 7. I think the install process was...
My receiver is circa 2006, a time when HDMI switching was on the cutting edge.
The receiver retailed for around $700 or so at the time, and was really one of the only receivers under $1k that even had hdmi inputs.
Like I said, I'm just taking it out of the equation. It was too much of a...
Well, I bypassed the receiver and not only does it work, but it works in 1080p instead of 1080i.
It worked so well, as a matter of fact, that I decided to put Windows 7 back on the machine.
And that works great, too. No third party software is required to switch monitors, but just a right...
Well, that's the thing. Sometimes it's set the way I want it, other times it looks to be set up correct, but I get no picture...and that's probably because whatever is being output doesn't quite match a resolution the tv can accept.
Believe me, I've played with some settings.
Anyway...
