Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.

He works at a store, so that doesn't surprise me. I really don't give a shit either way, because if I do have a problem, he's going to take care of the RMA for me.
I make it a priority for myself to whenever possible be serviced as a dealer or enterprise user, and not an end-user.
The tech that works at the store I buy some of my stuff from says that almost all mobos within a certain class are the same. He recommends MSI mobos simply because their RMA service is good.
Also, the K8T Neo FSR looks to be a mobo with all the features I need. The $100 price ain't too bad...
well come to think of it, I really don't do much gaming, and even then an A64 2800+ is a great processor. The gains obtained from OCing an A64 right now are just not really worth it for me, as I doubt i'll notice the difference.
so i guess ill just go k8t800 for now...
i dont want to overclock a lot
maybe a little at best
how well do u think the newcastles (socket754) will OC?
im getting a A64 2800+, and im upgrading to a newcastle in a year or so when theyre cheaper
maybe longer
i really hope this wasnt a paper launch, and I've heard some manufacturers are shipping 250 boards, but i cant seem to find any anywhere for sale.
any chance a decent board will be for sale before the end of the month?
ive seen a lot of ricing in the computer world-- cold cathode lights, custom made cases with racing stripes, liquid nitrogen cooling systems, but this just takes the cake...
just throw a passive heatsink on there
if I end up getting the NF7-S, chances are I will end up getting rid of the fan myself and replacing it with a passive cooler-- active NB coolers are such a waste...
All nf2-400 boards are pretty much the same if you're not a very discerning user
if you are, make sure you know the features you want and dont need, as that might be the selecting factor for a board for you
some interesting stuff:
DFI NFII boards are known to achieve higher FSB...
correct.
if anything XPs and XP-Ms especially are a great value to the overclocker market. Overclocked, an XP-M 2400+, which costs $75, can perform faster than an Athlon 64 3000+, which costs $211, and slightly slower than the A64 3200+, which costs $285.
I would never buy a refurbed mobo. Mobos and HDDs have the highest death rates of any other PC part, and I have no problem dishing out 20 bucks extra on a brand new part that I know I can RMA if it dies. The only parts I'd get refurbed is stuff that doesn't really break, like cases, or speakers...
If anything, I like the XT because it comes with the Remote Wonder 2, which is nicer. Otherwise, it's all the same I guess. If I was building an HTPC, I'd just get like a 9000, unless I was doing gaming on it.
