Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
In reality, there will be a performance increase and if you overclock, so far the lower end Core 2 Duos are looking promising already. However... There's really no reason since you already have a dual-core processor that is very good - you should be getting great performance and it's not like...
I hate to say this but you AMD !!!!!!s... I mean, do you have jobs? Lives maybe? I used to think you were human beings but lately I've begun to think otherwise. Maybe you're loyal robots that can't go against their code - you spend your days refreshing internet websites and counting down days to...
Indeed - that's the one I'll be waiting on. See, my computer is more than enough for myself at this time - so I really don't have any trouble waiting for the upgrade. I was tossing sideway glances at some of those dual-core Opterons - but after looking at the benchmarks for Conroe, I'm waiting...
I just feel that at those low speeds, that'd be a real heck of a nightmare for software. We're talking like, one thread per CPU kind of thing.
I'm definitely the most interested to see software catching up in two threads - let alone keeping up with quad-core etc. Yeah. I'd be...
It does seem like a software nightmare to me to be honest, splitting all that software up - but I am about as far from a programmer as you can get, so...
Personally I can see tens but hundreds... I guess it'd really depend. Something about 100 2GHz (Or even 1GHz) cores screams...
What kind of cooling? Damn, you're only a few C above me at full load last time I checked and well, yeah. :D
(As a note, I agree. The D920 is worth your money and an excellent processor - especially with it's overclocking potential on air)
Prices and everything are mostly speculation I believe - but I do suppose this is about as close as it gets - all prices would obviously be subject to gross amounts of change.

The RAM is nothing outstanding - but I've heard very good things about the PSU, and it seems to have done nicely in reviews if I remember. The RAM... Some would recommend maybe getting only 1GB and making it 667 depending on the prices. With a 775 build, DDR2 is your only real choice, so with...
I agree - if anyone can find a good deal on a dual-core it'd be worth it even if they didn't match a single core's overclocked speeds. If we see more smp patches for games, he could find that the performance gain would be pretty much in his favour - and you'd also benefit from the many other...
It would seem that it's most likely bad contact between the heatsink and CPU, although to be honest bad airflow could definitely cause that - although it could be other reasons. Your friend doesn't have any thermal paste like Arctic Silver 5?
First point - if the team doesn't exist, you are cheering for nothing, putting money on nothing, and supporting nothing. And you can't call AMD your "team," and then simultaneously say that a game your team played and lost in has "no right" being stickied in "your turf."
Second point - how...
There's always that uncertainty regarding it - not all are created equal, and it goes without saying that not everyone will get the same results. But the chances are consistently higher (Nearly to an assumed average) with Opterons.
I'm with you on that... If they release any, I'll be getting an E6600 and trying for 2.67GHz+. But that all depends on how overclocking goes with Conroe too. I'm just hopeful... If I can get the kind of performance shown in those benchmarks? I'd be happy. :D
Especially if it isn't at a price...
