    AM2 6000+ 40 idle, 55 load... (probably the case)

I see. Only the most experienced guys on this forum can be smartasses to others. Got it. :D This is exactly how the system is configured, save for the stock fan. As I mentioned earlier, temperature differences are negligible between the stock fan and the Zalman; the Zalman is merely quieter...

    AM2 6000+ 40 idle, 55 load... (probably the case)

Yes, I'm well aware of that and that's how it was done. I guess I should've been more clear.

    AM2 6000+ 40 idle, 55 load... (probably the case)

Thanks for the incredible insight. However, my thermal application is fine.

    AM2 6000+ 40 idle, 55 load... (probably the case)

Standard AS5 thermal paste, thin layer across the top. The Zalman is mounted on custom retention brackets that have holes for a 939 and connect to an AM2 board. I can only use two 120mm fans on this particular case: one drawing in on the front and one blowing out on the side, positioned over...

Recommended cooling for AM2 rig in a Lian Li PC-V600?

I don't need the CPU to be frozen, so I'm not looking for anything hard core. Standard operating temperatures or a pinch better is fine. I'd like to keep it simple and small, but at the same time, I don't want to add a buttload noise to the system, either. Right now the system is virtually...

    AM2 6000+ 40 idle, 55 load... (probably the case)

My Athlon 64 X2 6000 is running a lot hotter than I'd like and I've got a Zalman 7000 sitting on it. I'm pretty sure the problem is the case. I have a Lian-Li PC-V600B which puts the PSU above most of the CPU fan. CPU idles at 40 or so, goes up to 55-57 on load. I'm not sure if its just the mobo...

    Quieter replacement for Lian-Li fans?

I just bought a Lian Li PC-V600 and its 120mm fans were incredibly loud, even for spinning at 1000rpm. I replaced them with Silverstone FN122's (didn't need LEDs or fancy colors) and can barely hear a thing. They're a pinch slower, but push about the same amount of air. Huge difference.

Recommended cooling for AM2 rig in a Lian Li PC-V600?

I'm loving this case, but every component except the CPU is getting the cooling it needs. I have an Enermax PSU with a huge fan that I thought would be able to pull out enough heat, but it just ain't happening. The rest (video card, hard drives) are nice and cool. I'm interested in switching to...

    Decent 400w+ SFX/mATX PSUs?

A lot of the popular online retailers seem to have a poor selection of SFX/mATX power supplies. Are there any recommended shops and brands out there to get? Seems like 100-200w ones are common, but I'd like to go at least 400w if I could. I've searched around on Google and seen a small handful...

    Decent third-party Outlook sync software?

I'm curious if anyone is using a third-party application that they like to synchronize Outlook 07 across two or more systems. I have no need for a full blown Exchange setup and would simply like the ability to keep my Outlook data synchronized between my laptop and desktop. I tried SyncPST and...

Cannot get my VPN to work from the Internet

I'm already forwarding port 1723 to the local address of the machine on the network and I still receive the same error.

Cannot get my VPN to work from the Internet

I've got a standard Windows XP incoming connection setup on my desktop machine and can connect to it just fine via my laptop from within my Intranet, but when I attempt to do it from the Internet, I get an error 800 from Windows. I'm using a Belkin Wireless Router (F5D7231-4) and it says it...

Should i put Arctic Silver 5 on my 8800gts??

Arctic Silver compound is severely overrated. It doesn't do any better of a job than whatever paste comes with whatever cooler you buy for your video card. I've slapped Zalman coolers on every video card and CPU I've ever purchased and there isn't any difference between using AS5 versus the tiny...

Storing delimited data vs. relational databases (PHP/MySQL)

Here's a clearer example of both methods I'm curious about. First off, when the PHP is first being processed by a logged in user, a single query grabs their account information. Their user name, ID, password, profile details, and so on. Also included in that information is what they voted on...

Storing delimited data vs. relational databases (PHP/MySQL)

Thanks for the response everyone. While I understand that having individual items in a separate table is beneficial for looking up who voted on what, my original question related only to matching a single user against which items they voted on, not what they voted for. I'd definitely keep...
