    Got an eMachine 6805. It rockz...

    Also have had my M6805 for about three weeks. Not one problem with it so far. I have the 5400rpm/8MB Hitachi hard drive in it, and no dead pixels, plus I got $250 in rebates. Really lucked out. I love this machine. Worst part is I have a real hard time turning it off and getting to work...

    Coolest looking portable mouse for your laptop

    The Targus USB infrared mini laptop mouse is about the smallest and sexiest. Compact, silver, and cute. You get used to the size, and it's worth it. Cable rolls up into a neat spring/pulley shuttle thing, makes it a breeze to use. Cost $19.95. (Sorry, no pic.)

    I found an old 2540 Satellite. It has a little potentiometer control on the right side of the screen/lid. I missed it at first and thought the screen was buggered, as it was all white like you said. Are you sure yours doesn't have a brightness/contrast control like that? Dave
