Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Ahh, given what you've told me I'm not going to worry about trying to get those 2 cores cooler. Seems that must be normal.
And yeah, those 6420 were so cheap when they came out and really performed quite well. I have it sitting here staring at me, so I may need to pick up a new motherboard...
Well, I updated my bios from the 1203 "recommended" to the latest 1404 last night and can now hit the 1600fsb (3.6ghz). I was able to get it up to 5 hours small FFT before it died but my volts are getting high (1.45 I think) and my temps were getting very warm (67c,67c,63c,63c) so I think I'm...
first off I'd like to say that this is an excellent guide, nice work graysky
Now on to my request for some assistance. For reference my setup is:

I've been running stable for a month or so and last night I had 3 hard locks in a row. 2 while playing ET:QW, and one while running orthos(ran for an hour before box locked), I was also using IM and surfing the web/watching youtube at the time. Prior to my last round of tuning a month ago, I...
Replaced the onboard sound with an older SB card that I had, booted, and rock solid all night(dual prime95 running for a few hours).
The only 2 changes I made were: upping voltage to 2.1v from stock on the RAM, and turning off onboard sound. I'm not sure which it was, but I'm pretty pleased...
A quick glance across a few forums seems to indicate there are a lot of issues with the onboard sound and/or DTS being enabled on the p5n32 boards. I'm going to disable it and install my SB and see if the problem goes away.
RNPVenom, let me know if you're using onboard sound :)
I'm having the same problem, only with Windows XP. A push of the reset button was required.
I installed XP, installed SP2, installed all the patches(80+), installed all the drivers from the Asus CD, and installed the latest Nvidia Geforce drivers. Up until all that was done, things were...
I have a 20" CRT and a 18" LCD, which worked fine with the 7x.xx drivers, however, with the 81.85s, it hardlocks on boot and then reboots, much like some of the others posted...
My .02:
I have an EXOS, and it works like a champ. Setup was 1-2 hours I think(taking my machine apart took the longest time). The thing is super quiet(not even noticeable) and does an excellent job at cooling my system. It knocked off 10c-15c(I don't recall now) from the Zalman 7000cu...
I know how much I wouldn't pay.....
As much as I'd like to get some Fluorinert for my h2o setup, the stuff runs something like $500 USD for a gallon. Same stuff cray used alledgedly, completely dielectric, near water viscosity, and boil/freeze points are nearly the same(some actually boil...
The case I'm using is a chieftec dragon. It's a gray case, and while it doesn't match the color of the exos, it looks really slick. I wasn't too concerened with them "matching" but as with clothing, black and gray go together well :)

I've got the external flavor and I'd definately go with that if you have the extra cash to buy a different case. The ability to move the cooling to a new system/case is worth the extra bucks, atleast to me.
