My computer will run just fine for a few minutes........and then the screen will flash black, then a lot of garbled colors.........then the screen will come back but if i scroll on a webpage it's VERY slow to refersh. other than that everything seems to be fine. REboot, process repeats.
I've got this board and I was going to throw in my old SB live just for the hell of it as it's hung with me since PII 300 days but this board will not take it at all. With the SB live in it's highly unstable and locks up every 5 minutes or so.

I have an Abit KV8 Pro board and it will not take my SB live ot save my life. it does exactly what you speak of, screen goes black, then the computer locks up. Using onboard audio it works flawlessly. :confused:
So I recently got an Antec 430 PSU. I've noticed since I put it in that the noise coming from the case gets much louder if I load up the CPU with prime95, like things are speeding up. Is this possible or am I on crack? :confused:
ok, so................my SB Live does not work on my Abit board at ALL. If it's in the computer it seems to lock up and run like ass. No big deal I guess as the sb live is real old anyway. Wonder why that is though. :confused:

I put my SB Live back in my system after using the onboard sound for a while. The system is a lot louder with the SB live in it..not the speakers mind you but the fan noise????????
I hvae an antec 430 true and I wondered if with the SB live the...
so I went back to the bios........with the new PS I gave everything one increment in power higher......memory, cpu, southbridge...........etc.
Just for the hell of it as it shouldn't make much of a difference at all but it's been rock stable running prime95 and 3dmark looped since...
