    Steam Frame

Unfortunately this thing has a SOC, RAM and storage despite being a PC-first headset. If it releases with primo 16GB LPDDR5x ram and 255gb/1tb options that is an expensive component list for someone mainly using it for PC vr.

New TCL QD Mini LED monitors 27" QHD and UHD

Backlight array control / controller logic and overall color is make or break in mini led like this but the potential 2000:1 native contrast and higher refresh rates should give these monitors a chance to offer value in this space. Look forward to the reviews and measurements and comparisons to...

Moving from UHS-I SD cards to SD Express cards

Just to point out to anyone else looking at this thread. I would be extremely wary of SD as an only backup solution, they typically have very low write endurance and a history of poor reliability with a few exceptions. Given more suitable options in this thread people considering this option...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

I see what you’re trying to do - only scale the text using the legacy universal text-only dpi setting. That option is one setting only for all monitors. I won’t comment further on the downsides of that since I’m sure you’re already aware and to each their own, but I misread your comments to be...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

Thanks for your impressions. You should still set per monitor dpi scale using the multiple monitors section of display settings (at least I still can) or using a utility. The constant drive to simplify the settings dialog has dumbed things down by default, but the OS is capable of setting them...

    Dell UltraSharp U3225 QE monitors

These look like great productivity displays especially in dual monitor mode. Dell’s combination of clean industrial design, nice stands, decent engineering and reliable support makes them a great long term choice- thanks for the mini review.

Would a modern CRT make any sense?

This is a fun thread, and I think the ability to buy a new retro-style crt that targets enthusiasta like the smaller but very awesome Sony PVM line (the ones I have seen were about 13”) would be really cool and even seems like it would be a viable niche product if manufacturing tooling still...

Would a modern CRT make any sense?

Yes exactly - mprt from electron beam / phosphor fade simulation is very cool, and I have tried it on my 240hz oled. With 480hz you can see the improvements and at 960 it should be perfect. The beam tracing / per pixel impulse based method of crt illumination is what gives CRTs such sharp motion...

Would a modern CRT make any sense?

With a 960-1000hz oled you could run an electron beam / crt phosphor simulation that was a very good CRT replica with similar MpRT (motion clarity) and look to the CRT of your choice, minimal lag and still brighter than most crts. It would also keep many other advantages compared to a...

Upgrading to 1440p, How would my PC handle 1440p Gaming?

Typically you can force VRR on freesync monitors that are not listed a gsync compatible with an nvidia card. Not sure about this one specifically so it may be worth asking on an owners thread or Reddit if you see a specific discussion.

    Samsung G8 G80HS 6k @ 165Hz dual mode 3K @ 330Hz priced at $1499 anyone interested I am considering it and comparing it to my samsung neo g9 57''

Interesting concept / resolution / size. Not in love with the panel choice but if this does well maybe other panels will be offered with this combo of size / res / dual mode.

    Microcenter 9850X3D + mobo + 32GB DDR5 for $750

In response to comments about how does microcenter keep running these - A few years ago I saw the details of the co-marketing dollars (their terminology ) that intel and amd provide to partners, both oem and retail, and how they are different every quarter or even month. These are sometimes very...

    ViewSonic XG272-2K - Blurbuster's Certified 240hz 1440p OLED display

At 240hz and above Nvidia could just implement a rolling bFI feature at the driver level that is an option on their adaptive MFG (which always outputs at your monitors refresh rate). I think this would be a pretty clean solution with a much lower brightness hit and not require new hardware.
