Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I know this thread started a bit back, but did you ever do the upgrade? I have a 20" imac with a 2.0 CoreDuo. I also have a 2.13Ghz Core2Duo chip from newegg and am getting ready to drop it in. Just looking for any new advice or benchmarks to run before and after.

I am building the same type of setup for first time scsi. I am looking at buying a couple of the Fujitsu 36.7 drives to go with an LSI Logic 21320R card I already have in an Asus A8N SLI premium. Right now I have a couple of old HP server drives hooked up but am looking at adding these.

i figured for around $10 i would see what th cage offered. My question then is, at 80MB/s through the cage, is that going to be the bottleneck? or is using the card in a regular pci slot on the asus board?
I figured i would get it all set up first and see if i could get it to work...
Great!.. not knowing SCSI, I didnt know if I would get better performance on two cables to the two connecters on the card, or just on cable to 1 connecter.
Now its the waiting for all the parts that is killin....
Thanks for the help so far gang.
I picked up a used LSI21230 and and am waiting for that to come in. I also ordered this SCSI Cage . I am waiting for it to come in to see exactly what the ass end of it looks like so I know if I need to still get some SCA 80 to 60 pin Adapter U320 for the...
So, for controller cards I see the very expensive PCI Express Scsi adapters, (like LSI00008 PCI Express ) which appears to do much more than I need, and then there is the LSI21320B PCI-X Which just will do a my couple of drives in a RAID 0 for me.
The PCI-X card will work in the regular PCI...
I have picked up 2 36.4GB 15000RPM Wide Ultra320 SCSI drives from a Server that was just replaced. They are labled as HP Model BF03688284 and are in the sliding cage. They are also Labled SCSI LVD/SE and are 80pin on the back.
I have built my last 6 or 7 machines myself at home just for...
