• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

    Your Thoughts On Xbox Smartglass?

I have a Harmony to control all of my devices, but compared to controlling the Apple TV with the iPhone Remote app, it's clunky. Which isn't to say that it is a bad thing... I don't ever want to give up my Harmony... it's just that I really like the smooth integration between my phone and the...

Turn Off Google’s New Personal Search Results

I like Picasa and Google+, but am uninterested in seeing the "personal" results on a regular basis, at least until Google+ has a lot of traction and all of my friends are using it (not something I see happening). I like that at least this option wasn't terribly hidden, just "click gear, search...

Free Texts Pose Threat to Carriers

"They are undermining the core business model for an industry that makes most of its money from services that are high priced and low bandwidth, like texting." In other words, they're ridiculously overpriced, and could only overcharge us so much, because there wasn't any particular competition...

New Netflix Restriction: One Stream Per Customer

Sorry, I was simply repeating what I had read on ArsTechnica, and I believe they were referring to situations where the user has disc and streaming. But here's the link, rather than just parroting :)

New Netflix Restriction: One Stream Per Customer

According to the updates on the article on Arstechnica, they have now said that two streams are allowed with streaming only, and with DVD plans, you get the number of streams as you get number of discs out, plus one. So, two disc plan = 3 streams.

    48% of Google+ Users Haven't Made a Public Post

I think that this might just demonstrate exactly how important having control over the distribution of your sharing really is. Sure, some of that other half might not have posted at all, but I'm inclined to think it's more like all of those commenting above me in this very thread. Sensible...

    Are Internet Explorer Users Dumb?

From the end of the actual Aptiquant PDF (bold added): Since they concluded that stupid people tend to use IE 6-8 and constitute a nuisance, I think it's clear that we must keep stupid people off of the web! Perhaps instead of age-gating websites, we should IQ-gate them instead :)

There Is No Divorce In The Google+ World

We need a "baggage" button next to "like" button! That way you can tell at a glance just how many of your friends have already been scared away by that friend from gradeschool that you haven't talked to in 15 years :)

There Is No Divorce In The Google+ World

I've never been married, so maybe I don't know the subtleties of the married and divorced lifestyle, but is there any actual difference between being single and being single but previously married? I mean, I get the literal difference, but I'm at a loss to figure out why people see a...

Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Cables Must be Withdrawn

So, how exactly are you supposed to connect a Mini DisplayPort output to a monitor that only supports HDMI, without these cables? I don't have this setup, but I have a feeling that there are many people who do. I almost feel an urge to go buy some of these cables, just in case they actually do...

    The First Google+ Privacy Flaw

We need Google+/Facebook/social networking sites to all require HDCP equipped systems that disallow any kind of non-approved sharing! In fact, we need this to apply to the internet completely, so we can't share anything, and hyperlinks should also be made illegal, because it just aids in piracy...

    Craigslist Crook of the Day

While I'm firmly in the camp that thinks it should just be legalized and taxed like cigarettes or alcohol, I do think the story is still an amusing one. It's just ridiculous to think that you can go posting an ad for weed on a public and very popular site like Craigslist and not get busted...

NAD Files Disability Civil Rights Lawsuit against Netflix

I'm not trying to be insensitive, but why is it worth a lawsuit just because people who are deaf can't watch Dr. Who (for example) on Netflix? I don't have any trouble hearing, but occasionally have a hard time distinguishing between dialog and background sounds, so I often watch things with...

Best Buy Orders Stores To Price-Match To BestBuy.com

The strange thing is that I've never had a problem getting things price matched at my Bestbuy here in Austin. I've done it tons of times, and the most I've ever had to do was to get someone to pull it up on one of their computers so that they could check the price. Last time was even easier to...

Adobe Warns Critical Flash Zero-Day Bug

I guess I'm glad that at least they acknowledge security flaws now. I have a feeling that Flash will be a solid product about the time that HTML5 and other options have effectively replaced it.
