Took a look at semiaccurate - nearly nothing about the 69xx cards. That's very unusual - normally he'd have had a ton of articles about how much better they are then the nvidia equivalent.
Bought a 570 - got a very good price, and tbh it doesn't matter what ati bring out - I've got a 120hz monitor, access to some 3d vision kit, and an old 8800GT - I fancy playing batman, metro, mirrors edge in 3D with the physx effects over Christmas. If a buy a card that pricey I want to be able...
Can't believe anyone is really defending this. It was done intentionally to make the 68xx look 8-10% better then they really are. It's clearly a cheat to sell more cards by making them look better in the reviews.
As to all those saying "yay I got 8-10% for free" it's actually the other way...
3D photography works really well. I'm in the market for one but the only compact is the Fujifilm FinePix REAL-3D W3 and it takes pretty rubbish 2D shots. If they could release a camera that did 2D and 3D well I'd buy one.
They didn't say android is not for tablets, they said android version 2.2 is not for tablets hence the reason there aren't dozens of tablets using that. The moment google release an OS that is designed for use with tablets (either chrome OS or android 3.0, not sure which one google want people...
I don't think it'll be that disruptive - I think people will just get a tablet as well as everything else. iPad has shown there's a huge market for these things as a new class of device.
Looks like nvidia are doing the right stuff. It's looking very likely that a google os will end up being...
Kyle - since as I understand it ati basically cheated in their 68xx release by lowering quality at the same settings in the drivers reviewers were meant to use to raise fps by 5-6%, what did you do for the 5870 in this review?
Check out the texture shimmering with HQ here that doesn't happen when you use HQ or even only Q on an GTX 460:

It has a very flexible and advanced compute engine - fermi was already far ahead of the 5 series in this department, and with the loss of compute power the 6 series is a step backwards. If a game comes out that requires it via more complex shaders the 470 won't struggle. It also has a much...
