Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I agree, it certanly was a Phantom Edition here in Sweden too. If you were lucky you could get your hands on one right after the launch but thats about it.
And if im not misstaken it will make use of DX10 so even if you have "serious GPU power" with your quad SLI you might not be able to run it with all effects turned on...
Not the same thing IMO. Buy two of the most expensive graphic cards and yeah you might have the best rig for a few month then...
I have to agree with Jbirney, its getting really close to launch now and most things seem to be pointing towards a 24 pipe card. I would be really surprised if it turns out it actually have 32 pipes.
BTW, another rumor from TheInq: http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=29928
"First tests...
I can't say Im one bit impressed. These seem to be ATIs own benchmarks so you can guess they are made to make X1900XTX look good but even with ATIs own benchmarks (if they are that) the X1900XTX doesnt look good. In most cases its less then 20% faster than the GTX 512. I have no doubt the 7900...
Exactly and why would we trust you?
That post is over a year old, months older than the one I linked to that is. As far as I know most B3D members still believe that the R520 is based on R300 with maybe some features from the R500 and that the R600 will be based on the R500.
See this...
Of course its what he "believes", he dont know for sure....noone of us know for sure.
Maybe the R520 is a completly new core, maybe it isnt. Like I have said a hundred times before its all just speculations! The point is that if i am to believe anyone I rather pick him than a poster on this...
You didnt do a very good search of the B3D forums ;)
Here is one post were DaveBaumann mention that he believes the R520 still being based on the R300.

Do you honestly believe that ATI will not use any elements of the R500 in their coming graphic cores for PC? Things like the unified shader technology for example, do you really think they will come up with a completely new unified shader technology for their PC cores? Not very likely IMO. Im...
Listen, Im not sure of anything concerning the upcoming ATI graphic cores since as I said before its just rumors and speculations. But if I was to believe anyone I would rather choose to listen to people like Dave Baumann and company on B3D which I know are very knowledgeable in this area...
Go find it yourself, they have a search function in their forum, its not hard...
First, why should we trust you more than the people over at B3D? As Lorien said there are a lot of forum members over there that are in the business, both hardware and software developers.
And secondly you...
I think you misunderstood him. I dont think he (or anyone else) is saying that the R600 design is finished in any way. Its just that R600 will be based on the R500 (Xbox 360) architecture, with unified shader model and so on. The R520 is said to still be based on the R300 architecture (heavy...
