XP-M 3000+ : Is my chip limiting me?

Howdy, I'm working on OC'ing my XP-Mobile 3000+. I've got a shuttle an/35 Ultra board (nforce2 chipset) Athlon Mobile XP 3000+ No-name DDR400 ram Zallman Noisetaker 400w PSU tons o' cooling - chip hasn't seen 40c yet. If I turn the multiplier way down, the system operates dead...

Recommend me a case for ~60 bucks.

wierd... i just got this case http://www.xoxide.com/xoxide-x-handler-case-silver.html looks like someone's sharing suppliers :p. The construction on my case is good overall. Airflow's definitely good. I can't tell from the pics on the other case, but mine came with an 80mm blowhole mount...

    OC'ing XP-M woes

Well, I'm an idiot and you all are right I'm going to go hang my head in shame and see how high i can get my proc to clock. I'm not sure why it wasn't booting before, but it is now... Sorry to everyone for being so stubborn. Nothing like asking for advice then ignoring it sorry.

    OC'ing XP-M woes

I apologize to all if i'm souding aggressive - y'all make sense, beleive me. What's got me confused is that it's a change from the settings for my old proc, a slower version of my new one... That and it doesn't boot when I set it up the way y'all describe.

    OC'ing XP-M woes

if i set the fsb to 200, the ram clocks to 400mhz when i put it at 100%. That was the case with my old proc too - i had the fsb set to 200, the ram clocked to 400, and with a 6.0 multi, it netted 2.4 ghz...so it was actually running a 400 fsb * 6.0... The fsb in my bios only goes up to 250mhz...

    OC'ing XP-M woes

Okey - I reset the bios, let it autodetect the processor. That didn't work very well - it detected an unknown processor at 600mhz. So I: Set the 'FSB Frequency' to 133mhz. locked the memory to the bus speed ( Memory Frequency = 100% ). resulting memory speed was listed as 133mhz...

    OC'ing XP-M woes

i apologize - i am thinking systembus. and no i wasn't running my 2500+ at 1.2ghz, it shows the chip speed on bootup, I run mbm, and have seen it in my computer properties, etc... I was pretty thorough about the overclocking process on that chip, using clockgen to up the fsb slowly, and making...

    OC'ing XP-M woes

I've got a Shuttle AN-35 Ultra motherboard. Until today I had a Athlon XP-M 2500+ overclocked to 2.4 ghz using a 200fsb X 6.0. I picked up an Athlon XP-M 3000+, and can't get the system to boot at a proper speed. 200 X 6 nets me 1.2ghz, where it used to net 2.4ghz... The only change to the...

    Airflow considerations

Yeah I've been thinking I should have bought a nicer case, but I've been on a tight budget the last few months, so this one had to do... for $40 shipped, it ain't too bad. I'm investing where it counts, on the hardware - Zalmann 400w Noisetaker PSU, that sort of thing. I'm thinking in a while...

    Airflow considerations

Sorry about the unclear/long post everyone. My basic question is this: should I be covering certain parts of the mesh sides/top for ideal cooling? IE near where the top fan is to keep hot air from recirculating into the case or near the intake to keep the cool air in the case... I'm...

    Airflow considerations

I picked up one of these cases on the cheap on ebay: The top and both sides of the case are mesh. I'm going to be running 4 fans: 120mm intake, 120mm exhaust, 120mm blowhole, 80 mm int the side I have two worries: a lot of the reading I've done here has to do with directed airflow...
