    I use the Sabrent usb/serial adapter (SBT-USC1M $13 @ Tigerdirect) with various Cisco switches/routers and it works like a dream. A co-worker of mine uses the same adapter to flash his FTA receiver.

    I've had success using sysprep. Run sysprep, shut down, swap the mobo, reboot & let windows redetect the hardware.

    USB Thumb Drive

    I have one (generic brand) & its best feature is a write protect switch on the side. I mostly use mine to carry antivirus & spyware removal tools...its nice to be able to flip the switch, plug it into an infected computer, & not have to worry about anything on my drive becoming compromised.

    I'd call the security company and get them to put a filter on the phone line. Every dsl install I have ever dealt with that has had an unfiltered security system has had this problem.
