Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
At Target brick-and-mortars, they're currently selling off all of their older versions of The Witcher 2 for $19.99, and the new Enhanced Edition for $49.99 (standard retail).
GoG.com is letting anyone with any retail version of the game add the Enhanced Edition to their account, however, so, I...
One 6990 is a Crossfire setup in-and-of-itself. Additionally, it would have 2GB per GPU, vs the 1GB per GPU each 6870 would have - which would allow for much higher limits on AA.
I can't tell you how much I'm waiting for the next series of Geforce cards. Selling off my unlocked 6950's and moving to the fastest single card I can get. Even if there is a small decrease in speed overall, I will not sit through this constant waiting game for drivers/profiles to play every new...
This isn't Bethesda's fault, AMD completely dropped the ball on this one. Their drivers have been really bad with Crossfire support lately.
No matter what we may think of the games, of the last three AAA titles with new engines, only one launched with any form of Crossfire support (BF3), one is...
I don't know how the above point isn't brought up more than it is, really. MW3 is practically Quake 3 with an instagib mod, but with a military theme and some different game modes to compliment it.
Battlefield 3, again with a military theme, tends to lean much more toward tactical movement and...
The live chat option in Origin seemed broken, so I used the website. Took a twenty minute wait or so, but, they added Dead Space 2 to my account, no begging required.
Not a bad deal for watching some Netflix and waiting to get connected.
Now, if only getting them to get the Beta rolling...
Theoretically, if the card has a listed manufacture date, most times companies will approve Warranty work/RMA's even if there is no invoice, because it would be physically impossible for the card to have been sold before that date.
Unfortunately, I've sold off all of my XFX cards, and can't...
On the RAM front, no, you'll only have an effective total of 512MB. While clock speeds/base performance are unaffected by mismatched Crossfire, the only one area you are limited is by the amount of RAM on the card with less memory. Both cards are going to have the same information (essentially)...
Also - if you Crossfire two cards (your example of an xx50 and xx70), it does not cap the one out at the top speeds of the other - the clocks are completely independent of each other.
Apoppin, a member here on the [H], has done some testing on this. A "Frankenfire" combo, as he puts it, will...
I sat refreshing the page at 8:55 a.m. Pacific and on, by the time the Order Now link came up for the 6950 deal, I clicked it, and it was already dead. Apparently they had 15 seconds worth of cards.
100% trolled.
Did anyone have any luck getting in on the RetailPro 6950 2GB for $170 deal they had going?
I was literally refreshing the page back-to-back, and by the time the Order Now link became available, I clicked - and... dead already.
Not even a minute, and kaput. Did anyone manage to get a hold of...
You'd look childish enough getting uppity about not getting the answer you wanted if he hadn't given it to you, but... on the bright side... maybe you and your laziness/entitlement issues can go have a pity party together in the corner with the time you saved not clicking the link and educating...
I almost bit on the one $230 after rebate 6950 2GB hot deal a while back - glad I waited. Been wanting to get a second and toss 'em in Crossfire.
If it unlocks, even better, but for $170, I'd gladly just make it the secondary card to my Asus modded 6950.
Thanks for the call out on this one.
I'm disappointed in this article as well. I could understand the omission of unlocking informaton if this were an article discussing only the unmodified base hardware, but it is heavily focused on overclocking and exactly what you can do if you max out the hardware.
Without that information...
