Quick compare of A64 X2 6000 with C2D still shows a better bang for the buck with the Intel chip. AMD needs to get their pricing in-line with the chips' performance relative to Intels to be competitive.

You might have something there. I looked and couldn't find one. I suspect that the HD is not able to handle the OC thru the IDE, whose clock speed is probably the same as the PCI clock. That would explain the HD boot getting trashed all the time.
