Net Neutrality Rules Expire Monday, as Lawmakers Push for Paid Data Prioritization

AT&T has throttled YT for a long time. One of the reasons I dumped them over a year ago.

    Ready Player One Teaser

I read the book and enjoyed it but..... ...WTF did I just watch?? Looked like a trailer for Summer Blockbuster Generic Special Effects Movie 2018.

    OLED 4K 30" 60 Hz - Dell UP3017Q

Agreed. That review was terrible. No testing whatsoever - basically gave us no useful information about the monitor.

    U2412HM is 16:9 !

Pretty much since (to my knowledge anyway) LG has been the source of all the IPS panels on the market. Their QC has been less than stellar over the years. All the issues people complain about with IPS panels are nothing new and have plagued LG IPS panels for years now. Doesn't matter if its...

    U2412HM is 16:9 !

It's clear Oled has no clue what he's talking about. Just put him on ignore and be done with it.

    Dell G series with LED

Yes, LCD tech is severely lacking but there are decent alternatives to TN....Just need to spend more than $600. =/ Unfortunately, just about every 'new' LCD released these days is wide gamut...TN's included. It's not isolated to IPS.

Hazro HZ24Wi - not exactly happy with it...

Yeah that backlight is terrible. I would send it back just based on that alone.

    NEC MultiSync LCD3090WQXi-BK spotted

Actually, Albovin is an extremely useful member here despite him sometimes being 'abrasive'. There are a few ignorant opinions in this thread and while I don't agree with how he's gone about getting his point across, he's definitely right about what he is saying.

A fresh look at an old favorite: my new NEC LCD2490WUXI SV

Thats comparing Apples to Oranges....Of course a Plasma HDTV is going to have superior blacks compared to a LCD monitor. The NEC is one of the best PC LCD's you can get for rendering blacks accurately. And don't go into the whole 'PVA's have better blacks' thing....because all things considered...

Is it possible: 30 inch in portrait?

Pretty sure the NEC 3090WQXi has built in portrait mode.

    Gaming on a NEC LCD2490WUXi

Gaming is great on my 2490. No noticeable lag even with faster paced FPS...for me at least. =P

Got the Samsung XL30….NEC 30” Spectraview out soon

Aye, typical *VA gamma shift. $4600 for the XL30 versus $2100 for the 3090WQXi is a no brainer IMO....the NEC puts the XL30 to shame.

    LG L246W

For those experiencing banding in gradients…. I noticed the same thing when I first tried this monitor. This LCD is very sensitive to gamma/brightness/contrast adjustments and I wasn’t able to fully get rid of the banding until I calibrated it with my Eye-One and even then it took a few go...

What's the difference between the Nec SpectraView 2690 and the not spectra ?

Its pretty straight forward. All you do is specify what white point, gamma, intensity, contrast, etc. settings you want and the software does the rest. It takes about 10-15 mins to do and you don't need 'perfect eyes' to do it. =P
