Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
"What you have given me, for free I might add, is a good idea of what I'm up against in terms of competition."
Competition? LOL what competition? How are we competing?
You have a generator because "nobody likes to restart a render"? I don't know what kind of rendering you do, but to...
Gaming isn't really a good application for SMP. The cons of trying to correctly code a game to work with multiple threads far outweigh the pro's. It's far easier, cheaper and faster to forget about SMP for gaming.
I upgraded from MP2000's to MP2800's and got a nice boost. $169 each from Newegg, then sold the 2000's on eBay for $120 bucks. Shaved about 15 seconds per frame on render times, got about 14 FPS more in Doom3. Not a bad upgrade for $218 bucks.
First of all you seem to be hung up on this IQ business. I'd just like to point out that IQ means absolutely nothing. I have an IQ of around 145, depending on which IQ test you take, which on most puts me at the genius level. I meet the qualifications to join Mensa. But I don't. I don't flaunt...
Just about every quality, name-brand motherboard will have it's own rear IO plate in the package. I haven't seen any motherboards in years that haven't. As long as they are ATX you should be OK.
OK so I see you're being facetious now, but you still haven't answered my other question. What's the point?
"Kelvin of Italy Industrial Cabinet Air Conditioner 400W cont 600W max"?? For what?
If you get even half this crap I'd like to see a pic. And then I'd like to see the work you...
From that life story I gathered your main purpose for this "setup" will be CG... What's the point? I'd certainly say getting a generator for a home computer system is a bit.. asinine. I wonder what your landlady would say about a generator.
PS - I hope those teflon brake rotors in your sig...
Ah sorry, forgot. I'd be willing to let it go for $350, and I'd pay up to $50 worth of the shipping. Pretty good deal for this monitor I think. If you don't agree, make me an offer ;)
Hey all I've got a Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 2020u 22" Natural Flat CRT for sale. This is a professional grade monitor. Build in USB hub, dual video inputs (One BNC one DSub). I'll throw in a nice Belkin BNC connector too for a high quality connection. Monitor is in great shape. I still have the...
Opterons always bench a little bit higher than their respective Xeon counterpart in Maya.
I'd go with Opterons for the future compatability, even though they are a bit more expensive than Xeons right now. Also, if you can wait a month or two and need/care about the features, there will be a...
I don't really see a need for PCI-X, GigE or AGP Pro for your config, so the Tiger will work just fine.
I have a 431 watt Enermax that has not failed me. Works great, no issues.
One option would be to buy a single high end proc like the 250, then pop in another one when the price comes...
Ah sorry I did not specify. Not sure why'd you'd want to invest in SCSI just to run one non-RAID drive though ;)
I am a heavy multitasker. I invested in a 300+ dollar Adaptec card, and a couple of 10k RPM Ultra160 hard drives a few years ago. Now I have a western digital special edition...
Well if you're not going to be working with any extremely high detailed models or scenes, then you don't have to worry about a workstation graphics card. Go with a high-end gamers card like the 6800 series from nVidia. Stick with nVidia for now, their OpenGL drivers are better than ATi's. I have...
