Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I'm selling my EVGA GTX 570. I just upgraded to a GTX 670 and don't need this card anymore. I never overclocked it (never felt the need) and never had any issues with it.
I'm thinking $215 USD shipped to the lower 48 via paypal. If you're near Portland, OR I could arrange for a pickup...
I just went with the GTX 570. I've had ATI cards from the original Radeon up to the HD 5870 (except for an 8800gt) and am happy with my decision so far. Power consumption doesn't seem to be much different than my 5870.
My take on the 6970 vs 570 is that the 6970 may end up faster (and may be...
We're still running 2004 & 2005 at work. There's no subscription, not tied to inventor etc. We use Solidworks for most stuff these days, and just use Autocad to maintain our old drawings.
I'm ready to sell my XFX HD 5870 (HD-587A-ZNF9). I don't have as much time to game as I used too (girlfriend changes things, for the better though!), and I've finally finished the game I got the card for (Risen). Honestly, this card ended up being way overkill for that game (my 8800gt ended...
Well I'm now running the 8800gt, and so far so good, but it's only been a couple days so far. I'm only playing one game at the moment (risen) but I haven't noticed any difference in performance; of course risen doesn't like AA, so that isn't a factor.
I think I'll swap out the card for my 8800 this weekend and see how it goes. Honestly I'm almost wanting to ditch the 5870 for a gtx460 after all the driver related issues I've had over the life of the card. I seem to remember the 8800 just working, though it could be selective memory. I do know...
