    ^^^ From what I can recall, the SDA creates a "synthetic" audio soundstage by playing around with the audio output. It may surround you, but it's not true to source.

    I would buy this (from audiogon): 1. Paradigm S2 v1 ($1250) 2. Rogue Metis Tube Preaamp ($550) 3. Rotel RB-1070 amp ($500) 4. Use the XFi for now as your DAC. Later on, get a Cary CDP/DAC combo. Otherwise, a Benchmark or Paradisea are good alternatives.

    I agree that for this particular setup a receiver or sticking with your Zero DAC is most prudent. I disagree that hiend DACs are simply gimmicks. To OP, Onix XLS would be a good choice, paired with Xsub or ULW10.

    Sweet, mag... though it would sound better with better equipment than the Denon - but more than good enough for me. You should hear the diamonds - similar to those in looks but revamped crossover and a diamond tweeter instead of the aluminum in that guy. Powered by some awesome amps...
