go into control panel. Performance and maint> System folder> Advanced tab>start up and recovery> uncheck the box that says to restart computer.
This should give us a better BSOD with the details.

If it is XP what does event viewer show for errors?
Go into contol panel>then admin tools>computer management>left side of page click on disk management.
Is the drive shown on the right side listing?
If it is format the drive and then windows should see it.
If it isn't then make up a boot disk with the mfg's diagonstics program and...
