Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
These are called retrace lines and they should not be visible under normal circumstances. I had gray retrace lines when my screen was too bright. I don't know what colored ones mean, is the rest of the image ok?
See if you can find the service manual here http://rv6llh.rsuh.ru/shema.htm ...
I thought something was a little odd with that too. At Microcenter they had it up above eye level by a good 1ft. I found in the menus that there is a sharpness option and turning it down/off seemed to help. It definitely does look like an oversharpened image when viewed at certain angles. You...
Did yours come in 2 boxes? A smaller one inside a larger? The big one wouldn't even fit the doorway. :)
I just fired mine up and it looked like it may have a slight black level issue like my old ones used to but I can fix that if need be. Image restoration seems to have gotten it pretty...
We should have a poll to see what resolutions people like best. Personally I don't see how anything past 1600x1024 is necessary for the desktop. Past that you either have tons of blank space or more stuff on your screen than you should need at one time. Watching 1080i video or checking high...
Just got my Ebay FW900 in. It had a really heavy film on the screen but it doesn't look like their are any scratches after cleaning that off. The bezel is really nicked up so I am definitely swapping cases with my dead monitor.
Letting it thaw out for awhile before turning it on though...
Same thing here man. I called them and they said DHL recycles tracking numbers and that they do not get refreshed with new data until they actually pick up the package. So apparently ours have not shipped yet.
I must say that I was really sold on the Magna for quite awhile. The response time with the slide-erase tool is much higher than shake-clear method however the resolution was just horrific. This baby has a contrast ratio like you just wouldn't believe. If you have never tried one of these in...
I just took the main case off my old screen to see how hard it was. You have to hit it around the bezel pretty good to get the clasps to release but otherwise not too bad. Looks like the bezel itself is just 4 screws away from coming off after that.
The specs say that the 'standard image area' calls out for a total of 1/2" of black space on top/bottom and 1/4" total on the sides. This gives a 1.59xxxx : 1 ratio , very close.
Making the image take up the maximum edge-to-edge space changes this a bit, somewhere between 1.52 and 1.56 to 1...
If mine has worn plastics when it gets here I think I will swap the ones from my old screen.
Someone mentioned painting the bezel earlier. Here is the full service manual, tells you how to disassemble.

The VGA->BNC cable that came with my original new FW900 is very nice. I am not sure if there was a big difference in quality using it but it looks cool having 5 connectors on the back of your massive monitor lol. :D
DVI to BNC, do they make those? Doesn't seem like their would be any...
Yeah, that is the site. Nice guy too.
More info about black level at short-media forums in huge thread labeled something like 'DELL P110 too bright' (sony built CRT's) . I'll dig up the link later.
