    Abit IP35 Pro Questions thread

Does this board give accurate temp readings? uGuru is saying my CPU is at 20C when idle. That seems... low (it's not overclocked at all). Oh, and I have a Q6600.

Here's something new. A request for comments on new system specs!

Thanks for the note on the updated case. i had seen the P182, and should have clued in that it was an upgrade on the P180, but I assumed it was a diff case altogether... sheesh *slaps head*

Here's something new. A request for comments on new system specs!

Thanks for the feedback Enginurd and Danny. That Thermalright ULTRA-120 looks like a monster. Do they make a case big enough to fit that thing? Is that something you have to worry about? The P180 looks like a quiet case! Thanks for the reccomendation. I'll look into it a little more...

Here's something new. A request for comments on new system specs!

I guess this is the "pat on the bum" part of flipflopsnowman's guide to putting a PC together. I've been out of the upgrade game for awhile now, and I'm reaching the wall. I'm trying to put together a machine that isn't going to cost an arm and a leg, but doesn't skimp on quality parts...

How long to let Thermal Paste set?

Well, I've put the new motherboard and CPU into the system, and my temps are what you see in my sig. They seem higher then what others are getting. I don't get it. I've got 7 fans + the three fans in my power supply and artic silver 5 on the cpu. Shouldn't my temps be better?

How long to let Thermal Paste set?

Thanks for the quick replies! lol, wallijonn, I've wondered the same thing. It seems to make sense, doesn't it? I found it really amazing how thin a layer of arctic silver you can apply if you use a long sharp razor. Previously I always used the only "finger in a zip loc bag" trick, and...

How long to let Thermal Paste set?

When I applied Artic Silver 3 a year ago I remember reading that I should let it set for 24 hours, before using my computer. I'm getting ready to apply some Artcic Silver 5 on my new Pent 4 3.0 and I'm wondering if I should still let it sit after I put the heatsink on, before I test it. I...

I figured that was the case... thanks for the tips guys... now to decide what motherboard to get. I'm thinking the MAX3. But the AI7 looks good too... what to do, what to do.

    Pentium 4 3.00 will only run as a Pentium 4 2.00

Thanks for the quick reply! Now I'm wondering if I've possibly damaged the CPU by putting it in this motherboard... if I get a new motherboard, should everything be okay, do you think?

    Pentium 4 3.00 will only run as a Pentium 4 2.00

I posted this in the motherboard forum, and as I was writing it realized this may be more of a processor issue. So maybe someone here knows the answer. I just recently installed a P4 3.00. After doing this I cleared the CMOS and then booted up. In the Soft Menu is says: CPU Name...

    Pentium 4 3.00 will only load as a Pentium 4 2.0 - Help?

I just recently installed a P4 3.00. After doing this I cleared the CMOS and then booted up. In the Soft Menu is says: CPU Name: Pentium 4 CPU Internal Freq: 2.00 Ghz It doesn't matter what I manually change it to, during the boot up it still says P4 2.00 GHz. In Windows, if I...
