    Nice article, sums it up well. As I read your comment about what sort of computer you'll be running for HL2 and Doom 3, I couldn't help but think (jokingly) that the entire purpose of Hardocp is to prepare users for the eventual release of Doom 3 and Half Life 2.

    I'd probably say power supply, but that's becuase I'm paranoid. What's your PSU wattage and make? That temperature seems a bit high, but not shockingly so in my opinion.

    Has this system always had problems running 3d programs, or did this develop as of late? If it has worked in the past, try and think of anything you've changed or added to the computer shortly before it started malfunctioning, no matter how trivial.

    I suppose. Shuttle systems often ship with lower watt psu's and they run p4's fine. But uh for a desktop p4 with multiple optical drives, hard drives, and pci cards, seriously go for at least 300, and preferably more ie 350-400.

    Sapphire actually manufactures ATI's cards as well as their own, and having owned a sapphire 9700, I've seen nothing wrong with their quality.
