I'm in the same situation as the OP, normal surfing, some Word, and light gaming (TF2). I'm looking at laptops around the same budget, +/-$100. Dell Vostros seem to be the way to go. I've been out of the loop for too long and have only had a a 12" ibook G3 for a laptop.

So I have a Sapphire 9500 np, not modded, not o/ced, 4.6 cats. I've had it for over a year now and never had any problems. Until recently... I'm thinking it has to do with heat. And I'm thinking about replacing the stock POS fan. Need suggestions....

imac DV 400, 512mb ram, stock 10 gig HD, Panther... about 1 minute and a half.
imac 350, 192, 12 gig IBM, 10.2.8... about 3 minutes
imac G4 700mhz, 640MB ram, 40 gig, 10.2.8... about a minute and a half as well...

They fixed it! hallelujah!! I just tested it on 3 games that always used to revert back to the windows default upon exit and now they stay with my "defined" settings... booyaaa!
