Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Thanks for all the feedback everyone
Looks like the 850 Evo 500GB can be had for $205 so that's even cheaper than 2 250s ... Looks like I will go this route
Am also going to look into RAPID
Thanks again!
Hey Gawds,
I come seeking advice ... I am upgrading my main/gaming PC and am thinking about going RAID0 with 2 256GB SSDs
Currently I have a Crucial M4 CT064M4SSD2 64GB that is holding my OS and a few various programs ... then I have 4 Seagate 160GB in RAID5 and a 1TB Hitachi Deskstar...
Cool ... thanks for the feedback guys ... I'll probably just stick it in my other PC then since that is just running onboard graphics
Thanks again everyone for all the help!
Thank you very much guys! I just pulled the trigger on the Gigabyte GTX970 G1 Gaming ... I appreciate the thought to look in the FS section but I generally try and buy new
Side question though ... I should probably keep my GTX 570 in as a PhysX card right?
Awesome ... thanks for the feedback guys ... much appreciated!
As for the Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 ... I saw all the stuff about the refunds regarding the amount of VRAM ... it's still pretty much the top card right? Or should I look at any others?
Thanks!
Hello Gawds ... I coming seeking advice in regards to the gaming PC in my sig
Currently have a Gigabyte GTX570 ... looking to upgrade ... Budget ~$400
So ... single Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 (Gigabyte has been good to me but open to other options) ... or should I SLI 2 GTX 960s? Maybe MSI...
It's much appreciated ... I looked at NAS4Free as well ... I like the simplicity of NAS4Free, but I like that I can easily run a Plex server on FreeNAS ... that is really the only functionality I need ... apart from keeping my data safe of course
Thanks for the reply ... I wish more people were aware of this ... If FreeNas had some better help and available documentation I would have known ... but until I went into the IRC chat about a separate issue I was unaware that ECC was pretty much a requirement ... I am returning the motherboard...
Hey Dangman ... thank you for the reply
That NZXT case does look much better ... thanks for that suggestion ... I'm going to pick that up today at the store ... it was only $38 ... I already ordered everything else but I can just return that Antec case
As for the PSU I'm going to stick with...
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
FreeNAS box ... data storage ... also running Plex Media server
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Sub $800 all said and done would be nice
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell...
I would assume because when a regular CPU come out of idle and produces more heat a fan would be needed then
I specifically said I was only looking for Intel ... I have no interest in AMD ... I never have ... and nothing you or anyone says will change my mind :D
Ok cool ... thank you
For the VoIP though ... do I need something like this?
Grandstream GS-HT702 Handytone 2-FXS Port Analog Telephone Adapter
Right now the Technicolor all in one box thing I have from Comcast has 2 RJ-11 ports on the back that my phone plugs into ... if I get rid of that...
Greetings all
I'm looking to get away from renting my modem/router from Comcast (Technicolor TC8305C) ... one because the cost is just silly and I'd rather have better equipment and secondly because (in WoW) I get these weird dropped packets or something that look to be happening at the...
