Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Thanks for the heads up, I'll give it a shot and see hrm. Worst case I can throw in a digitally controlled pot and couple it with a VReg (LM317T) and by adjusting it , I can alter the regulated output voltage...
We'll see..
Oh yea, it's running at a fixed frequency atm, but I plan to throw in a breadboard-mounted pot to select the operational frequency, and check how the fans react based on experimentation. From what I've read the usual range is 30 - 200 Hz...so that would be the swing offered by the freq. pot.
Considering that Ive fitted a noisy delta screamer in my Core 2 Duo box, I decided to set about making a simple PWM signal generator based on pot position.
I ended up developing a simple circuit to take care of the loud fan, and you can see my thoughts on this in detail here.
Here are...
Some reasearching has lead me to believe that this mobo uses the IT8712F for managing hardware monitoring. I've used speedfan and it's a bit crap. Was wondering if Asus Probe II would work as that is a nice app...any ideas? MBM doesn't work, and easy tune is really ugly lol.
Well it's important to understand that the IHS has it's on layer of thermal paste inside, then the metal plating and now AS5 on top. I tend to do it how you say, as you really can't put *too much* as the HSF pressure on the IHS would just squeeze out any excess. (a) this isn't great cause it...
Hiya guys,
The way I looked at it was that I wanted a fast system out of the box, and I plan to keep it around for a couple years so the 4MB cache seemed worth it. I made a silly mistake and ordered DDR2 667MHz RAM, so my OCing will get me as far as 3GHz I think, but I'm only receiving the...
I've taken up Smoke's advice and registered as a Heatware member (info in 1st post). I've also added several new items to the list including and AMD proc, AMD (MSI) mobo, Hole Saws and a 3COM NIC ;)
Collateral Damage
Drat, just missed this. If PhoneBooth is avail I'll take it! Please email me a list of all other DVDs you have for sale (I trust these are R1). Will take any good ones, but it seems that most have already been snagged :(
