    Substitute for GetDataBack

GetDataBack can view all the files on the corrupt/hidden partition, but it will only allow me to copy the old files to a different hard-drive. This wouldn't be so horrible except two of my partitions are corrupt/hidden, so I have no way of backing up everything on them. Is there a program...

FT: Pentium 4 2.4C (Broken Pin)

You guys do realize that there are dummy pins on the CPU. VSS is a ground pin (I believe) and therefore the processor can run without it. It may need to be underclocked, but it isn't a keychain.

What do you think of this system?

Amd Athlon 64 3400+, Geforce 6600GT, 2 GB Ram, 200 GB HDD IDE, Abit AV8 VIA Socket 939 ATX Motherboard, and 350 watt PSU I give it a 6. Nice proc and mobo choice, but you need to disclose more details about what RAM and PSU you're planning on purchasing.

Abit NF7-S Stuck detecting IDE drives.

You probably had some jumper settings incorrect. However, that wouldn't cause the motherboard to stop booting, it would just delay the boot by a minute or so.

    Best 754 Mobo under $150?

The Epox 8KDA3+ is a great motherboard for $100. Save yourself the $50 to spend on a processor upgrade.

what mobo would be the best to oc a 64 3200+

I've hit 237 x 11 (2.6GHz) on my Gigabyte K8N Pro, but the K8N Pro is outdated technology (nForce3 150) so I'd put my money on the EPoX 8KDA3J, I've always had a thing for EPoX

How much hardware have you fried?

I haven't fried anything. However, when building a new machine a couple years ago, I asked my dad to install the HSF because I couldn't get it to clip. Long story short, neither of us could get it on and I needed to see if it would post. This was when I was a noob to building stuff and I...

building a new comp for the first time '' revised specs''

Kingston makes great RAM too. Their value RAM is pretty much equal to Crucial's value RAM. I don't know how much that ThermalTake PSU is costing you, but I've never been a fan of Tt products. If possible, get the Antec 430 TruePower PSU. Like people have said, better safe than sorry.
