Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I have a system running monitors in eyefinity and on the integrated intel video output.
I had been running all monitors in simple extended desktop mode without issue for about a year and a half. However, ever since I activated eyefinity the computer will "forget" the placement of the...
This is one of those things that works well if you need to power a generator off the grid way out in the boonies. It was repopularized in the 40's for autos because of petroleum rationing. My brother's father in law had a hand built, woodgas fueled, V8 powered saw mill on his farm that was an...
"TNT2m64 was the worst I ever had."
It used 64bit memory instead of 128bit memory so even if you could overclock it you, at best, got half the framerate of a regular TNT2. Plus, at that point, you couldn't just drop your screen resolution from 640x480x16bit as there was nowhere to go in DX6/7...
I still use an XP-90C which is about 4 years old now and is about to be on it's 4th socket change. I use it with 90mm Vantec Stealth Fan. It has oxidation where it has been handled (fingerprints) but nothing I would expect to hinder performance. I haven't seen any tarnishing in the radiator fins...
Apple isn't using SLI and the 9400 is a hybrid SLI combo of a 9100 and either a 9200 or 9300 GPU, right? Apple/Nvidia haven't stated WTF the Apple version of the 9400m is doing but it appears to just be a 9100 with DC shared system memory. Seems kinda weak.
It's been a long time, but one of the things that was mandated when I was in school doing reports was citing the BOOKS my reports came from. The premise was simple, you have to draw conclusions from several published sources, so you will also have to read those sources. Encyclopedias (usually)...
A solution looking for a problem. Not that this is a bad thing. IF the sensors could move the support bar to an optimal location and/or orientation during a crash, it would be better than a static reinforcement. Cool stuff occurs by small steps.
I don't see any reason for Dell to retire the XPS brand. Alienware could become their ultra high end customizable box while the XPS moves towards using their standardized hardware with a premium for a flashy case. The lowend of the XPS line pretty much fits this category already.
There are detailed pics of the Boston one up on Make. It really doesn't look like a bomb. It looks like a battery powered sign. They still keep calling them "containers" on TV but they are really just a flat circuit board with LEDs sticking out. I don't know what the authorities were thinking...
If someone sold me a bad card and after jumping through RMA flaming hoop hell sent me 2 cards, I'd call them up and offer to send the extra card back if they would pay for shipping and handling. My handling fee would probably be about $100.
I went with Gigabyte's GA-K8NSC-939 for what I'd hoped was my last AGP board (It wasnt't, my old NF7 bit the dust a month ago, but anyway...) It's a little long in the tooth now, but zipzoomfly has it for under $80 and you can get it cheaper elsewhere. Supports X2 4600 with plain old ddr400...
