Microsoft to Acquire Skype for $8.5 Billion

Wonder what this means for the many people who use Skype on their linux boxes? I'm guessing its the death of it, but who knows......

MGS4 pack releases Dec. 23 for LBP

This is going to be the 2nd "Level Pack" - but only the first one to actually CONTAIN new levels! I'm not all into creating, so buying these "Level Packs" that don't contain actual levels is a waste. But this one, the Levels AND the Paintinator - totally awesome. They just made another...

    GTA IV Locking Up&#63

As I posted earlier, my CE showed up this afternoon so I wandered on home to try it (had a sick child today, how fortunate or unfortunate however you look at it). Mine worked. My buddy is trying the HD swap and format as I type this, so we'll see at some point here in the near future...

    GTA IV Locking Up&#63

Sent to the bigwigs just in case.... A friend of mine owns a Launch 60g and a post-launch 20g. He has upgraded the HD in the 20g to 120g, and saved the 20g drive for emergencies. His CE version of GTA4 has this game breaking bug on the launch 60g PS3. It plays just fine on his 120g one...

    Linux Gaming on Cedega

You could also always try a nightly-build or beta of Cedega if you are adverse to paying the subscription. It basically is fully featured, except for all the copy-protection checks/bypasses that they have to pay for, which is why you have to pay.

    ok i gotta know about UT3 (PS3)

From a dedicated (until recently) PC gamer, here is my take: I was amazed at how well the controller actually feels in the game, it is very smooth and easy to play. It was smooth, I didn't feel my thumbs getting all jumbled up while strafing around, it just worked, and worked very well...

Yellow Dog Linux 6.0: Installation and Setup

Well, you could install Transgaming WineX (now known as Cedaga, how long have I been using that, lol) on it, and play. But really, until Sony releases the video display specs in Linux format, you're not getting any hardware acceleration. Which, sucks. My theory on this is that the Dev Kits...

    ps3 hook up for monitor?

Don't know how much help I am here, but I own a 22" Widescreen Samsung monitor (not at home with it now, so can't give you a model number....) - but most likely the same as the one in question here. For the PS3, yes, you MUST have a DVI port that supports HDCP, or it will not work. This...

    Thinking of PSP...

Bought my PSP not too long ago, just before Christmas. Bought the Vader one, only because it was Vader. Should have gone with the Daxter to get the extras, but really, how could I turn down Vader? Renegade Squadron was pretty slick, but seemed a little too short. So, bought Jeanne d'Arc last...

Sony Delays Skype On PSP In Japan

I'm not sure how often I'd use it. But, I'm sure I would some times, and that may justify it. What isn't noted in this story though, this is for JAPAN only, the North American release and the EU release is still on track for the end of this month. Something to do with the microphone/headset...

    PSP: Movies and Memory

I'm not sure you want to shoot for DVD quality on the thing. I have a 2g stick in mine, and was able to put /nearly/ 9 hours of video on it for my son on a recent road-trip. He wasn't concerned about the video quality (only 4, so he wouldn't care or know what it was even, unless it was...

    Wii Quality Control

I guess it depends on what you're looking for. I'm not thinking of the Wii in nearly any other context than a true one-room multi-player experience. The single player games, while some of them are good aren't the market that the Big N is going after. They want the casual market, people who...

    Playstation 3: Audio Issue

If you are worried about the external sound when the PS3 needs to be hooked into the stereo. My solution for late-night gaming with the Wii is a set of wireless headphones. Sure it took a few sets to get the "right" pair, but it is totally worth it. I now can enjoy gaming in the living room...

    Question about PS3 Compatibility

Yeah, me either. I originally bought the first 22" to use as a PC monitor, then I had the revelation that I'd never build a new PC to actually USE it at its native rez with new games, so I thought long and hard and bought a PS3. The reviews of the monitor on Newegg there were a couple that...
