Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
The only thing you really want in a Ruckus AP is the Unleashed firmware which the R710 has. The R730 doesn't officially support Unleashed but you can hack it into a R730 via the R850 firmware but you won't get updates beyond 200.4.

I tried this and it did ultimately work (sort of). I was having no luck with it -- the thing literally felt like it was cemented on. I then wasn't paying attention to it and gravity alone literally separated the heat sink from the fan and the CPU bent multiple pins as it bounced off the...
Just to close the loop on this -- I ordered the 7900XT rather than the 7900GRE when it hit $629 since there was only $80 difference in price from the GRE. I probably should have waited since I suspect the 7900XT might get down below $600 in a month. I have no confidence that the 2025 cards...
Am I the only one who reads this as horrible news for gaming? I don't want AI in any form on my PC. I'm not going to be using a GPU for it. I foresee higher prices and GPU shortages again as a result of this. All of the cards get bought up for AI or Bitcoin mining again on launch.
Well, I hope you're wrong about AMD's future direction but it doesn't look like it. I could care less about AMD doing anything in the enterprise environment. It sounds like a huge loss for the consumer environment where we get stuck with higher costs and unnecessary features.
The PC in question has a Ryzen 5700G and an Nvidia 1080TI running Windows 10 and Sunshine server. I use it as my gaming machine by running Moonlight on my Linux PC. Gaming would be at 1440P. At the moment, I don't have a compelling upgrade case because the system is handling my existing needs...
I haven't tried. It can boot Windows or any Linux distro. I suspect there will be an issue with a ZFS partition for boot so you'd have to chainload whatever FreeBSD sets up.
For multiple distros, systemd-boot works with loader entry files which are very simple text files. This is an example...
I use a 4GB FAT32 partition for EFI. That's because I use systemd-boot for my boot manager which requires boot files on that partition. I'm currently at 1.01GB used. You don't want to run out of space on the EFI partition though because it's a pain to fix later. If you're not running...
I agree that they are trying to get rid of their current stock of legacy 59xx processors. To me the $100 premium for 4 extra cores wasn't worth it. Based on the chart you provided, there's a 14.2% increase in speed from 3900x to 5900x. There's another 14.2% by adding 4 cores but that's only...
Well, I couldn't wait. The price of the Ryzen 9 5900X dropped to $250 so I'm upgrading my 3900X. An X3D version would have been nice but I'm generally not doing gaming on this workstation so saving $90 and keeping 12 cores rather than losing 4 with the 5800X3D seemed a good enough trade...
Except for the fact that it's not. 1440 is the vertical resolution which isn't considered in the 2K or 4K specifications since 16:9 aspect ratio is implied for TV.
The measurement is the horizontal pixel resolution (1920) of 1920x1080 which rounds up to 2K.
2560x1440 would be 2.5K or 3K if you...
Just purchased a Gigabyte RX7600 OC 8G for a PC that was only using the Ryzen 5600G as a GPU. Why this card? It was inexpensive, the RDNA 3 architecture, low power consumption, and good enough performance for most gaming. I use Linux most of the time so AMD was preferable to Nvidia. I...
Get the 7900XT. I own the 6900XT so one step behind the 6950XT. I wish I had an RDNA3 board. The only exception that I can think of would be if you want to do GPU Passthrough (VFIO) -- the newer RDNA3 seems to have issues with that.
