Anybody try XLibre instead of Wayland yet?

Wayland does everything I need and supports VRR, I've got no interest in reviving X11.

Linux gaming thread, what games are you currently playing?

With due diligence, ProtonDB is riddled with Steam launch options that aren't needed most of the time.

Unannounced Nvidia RTX 50 Super GPUs appear in Seasonic PSU calculator — unreleased graphics cards shown with 10-17% higher TGP over original models

My 4070S has been such a great card at 1440p, I'd have no problem paying for a 5070S...

Review the game you finished recently.

I just finished Death Stranding, it's literally taken me years. What an epic game, the plot twists, the emotional trek in the end. I struggled to get into it at first, but I'm so glad I finally made the decision to sit there and work out the mechanics of the game - One of my fav's of all time...

Legacy Nvidia RTX 3060 12GB returns to retail five years after original launch, priced at $339

I run an RTX 4070S with 12GB of vram, and at 2560x1440 with settings maxed out in many games and RT as well as PB RT enabled in those that support it, along with a touch of DLSS and FG at times (not all the time) - I never even get close to running out of vram.

Legacy Nvidia RTX 3060 12GB returns to retail five years after original launch, priced at $339

This is something I actually monitor from time to time, and I've never come close to saturating the pcie bus playing games, even running 4k textures. Agreed.

Legacy Nvidia RTX 3060 12GB returns to retail five years after original launch, priced at $339

A GPU won't saturate the pcie bus at pcie 3.0 16x like M2 storage will. Having said that, the difference between pcie 3.0 and pcie 4.0 in relation M2 bandwidth isn't large enough to really notice a difference in daily use - and any M2 storage based on pcie 5.0 is just stupidly expensive and out...

Valve Steam Machine, SteamOS Desktop, Steam Frame VR and Steam Controller

Except it wasn't really a price increase as the Steam Machine wasn't actually on sale at the time and the price was largely speculative. Once again, this is 100% due to the insatiable need for big US tech to create a market for AI where none exists, resulting in supply and demand issues...

Linux gaming thread, what games are you currently playing?

Well partially in response to comments you made when I asked the question, although I now realize you were specifically referring to game HUD's, which I never questioned so I'm not sure why you focused on in game HUD's? And basically in response to comments such as this: Bearing in mind that...

Linux gaming thread, what games are you currently playing?

As an ex Nvidia Surround user for many years, I can understand this; but the possibility of games not running letterboxed in the center of the monitor in 16:9 mode puts me off UWS monitors. I haven't used NVS for many years now, and I have to say I'm more than happy playing games on one 1440p...

Valve Steam Machine, SteamOS Desktop, Steam Frame VR and Steam Controller

I'm not in the US, but I'm paying twice the price for DDR4 SODIMMS that I was paying only 18 months ago, and that's DDR4, DDR5 is even worse. That price has increased considerably in the last 6 months, and that's not including the staggering increase regarding anything using NAND storage (not to...

Brave Software releases Origin for a paid, bloat-free browsing experience
