Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Umm...I guess I don't check in very often. But a LATE thanks guys! :D Guess I should get some GPUs going since I'm only up to 12 million today and dropped from the top 10 then to 32nd on the team today. Oh well, I just keep chugging along.
Welcome back Wolf! I'm digging back in the old memory banks, but wasn't Mrs. Wolf around back in the day too? (hope I'm not getting mixed up!) I don't check the forums much lately and my folding is without any GPUs so I'm not really able to hold my old position on the team...but I keep...
Well here I am thinking I can hold on to my top 10 position with a bunch of new C2D laptops...but it turns out they don't really like BOTH cores running 100%, so I'm stuck with a single 100% core and an unstoppable drop through the rankings. :( Keep up the good work, guys! :)
I forgot all about RC-5 64. I was ranked 1200 in that one and I didn't even participate for the last two years! Check out what I changed my name too when I switched to folding. I did my part for recruiting! http://stats.distributed.net/participant/psummary.php?project_id=5&id=135754
It's amazing to think back to the folding frenzy we had when this thing started. I've never seen as much excitement anywhere online as there was in this forum after Kyle posted the story about the Folding at Home project on the front page. We've had a lot of dominant folders and genomers come...
On passing me for 8th place on the team! I tried to put up a fight, but I've got about 20 C2D laptops running on only 1 core due to fan noise and heat issues...so the fight's over for now. I'm just trying to hold on to the top 10 on the team, but that's not looking like it will last long...
The cheapest way to do 20-30 machines would be with standard components and inexpensive cases - I wouldn't do any wall mounted stuff if you want to be taken seriously. That would work well as a cheap-as-possible solution, but in a work environment they'd blame your cobbled together setup if...
Well I haven't even been lurking lately either. I still fold like always, but I just don't have too much to say about it. It's good to see some of the original [H]orde still around though!
Hey Red, welcome back! We've been through a lot in the last few years, eh? Didn't you start out folding in the desert with a dust filled Dell? (I hope I'm remembering that correctly) I'm still here chugging along like I always have been. I've learned to stay out of the silly fighting and...
Wow, that's some crazy stuff right there.
This is the second time I can remember that police have been involved in a folding related incident. First we had the "drug dealing" folder and now a psycho balcony tosser. She should be in a lot of trouble for throwing those things down on what...
I have been running folding on every one of our computers at work since early 2001. I haven't had a single issue with it in the last 5 years - some of the early program versions had the occasional problem, but that's old news now. Our desktops, laptops and even our servers run it. The...
